That’s a testament to his life as a CRP coach. His advice was radical and he himself complained about being demonetized by KZfaq. Why he went to reporting about politics taking a critical view of his own country’s policy. I agree with this creator that his internet fame got to his head and he felt it was important to tell the world of Ukraine corruption. He should have found more stable forms of income. Maybe spending more time with his own family. Maybe move back to his father’s country, Chile. Who knows? Sad but clearly his demise was avoidable.

Look: my two cents on this. The war changed us all. As did the pan de mic. These great global conflicts change everybody’s life. This is just an extreme case. But I could mention a lot of KZfaqrs that totally changed their narrative. I even saw people on the right and left come together for or against a position on this war. Every political/social related KZfaq channel took a position on this. I will tell you my case, which is not important, but may help. I befriended a lot of right-wing liberals (neocons) during the vi rus. But then, when this all happened I took distance from them and became far more conservative and “warmonger”. My reason: I loved Russian culture since very young and their country had close historical relationships with mine (Argentina). So, this is not the exception, this is more like the rule. It’s a history’s turning point, as they call them, and it changes us all, whether we like it or not, whether we’re conscious thereof or not. Great video. R I P Gonzalo. And also R I P people from the other side. Good manners don’t take bravery away, as we here say.

Fact of the matter is that Lira managed to make contact with John Mark Dugan who offered to get Lira out of Ukraine. Dugan knew people who had successfully smuggled people out of Ukraine before. Firstly, Lira was told that his motorcycle would have to be left behind. Lira refused. Secondly, Lira was told to keep the details a secret. Lira didn't. Lira went and communicated with other people that Dugan was helping him to get out. Dugan found out that the person Lira was speaking to was known to be untrustworthy and unreliable. Dugan had no choice but to back out or risk having people he knew get in trouble with the authorities. Of course it doesn't help that Lira smoked despite the fact that he had known for some years that he had a heart condition.... but I suppose it's easier to blame Ukraine instead.

You're missing out A LOT of details here and I think it's giving you a somewhat skewed impression of the situation.I'll fill it with what I know. He owns three apartments in Ukraine, one of these now belongs to his ex-wife and family. He had traveled to Ukraine as a sex tourist, would later meet his second wife, who then divorced him over quite serious domestic abuse allegations. He was arrested the first time for taking pictures of Ukranian defensive positions around Kherson, the police seized his cameras and laptop and found he had been communicating with either pro-Russian, or actual Russian (unclear which) individuals who had advertised money in exchange for locations and pictures of UA defensive positions. During interrogation he allegedly gave up the names of several others who were involved and was given the option of remaining in Ukraine under house arrest to face trial at a later date, or be deported. According to local police he originally chose house arrest, but became paranoid that RU forces were coming to assassinate him for giving up those names so asked to be deported. He was put on a train to Poland. Sometime after he started to claim he was *still* in Ukraine but refused to offer any evidence of this. During a different situation, a girl who ran a podcast interviewing various Pro-Russian voices in the Ukraine war, who claimed to be a Jewish girl living in Donbass, was found to actully be an American national living in Washington state. She was indentified as being part of a group which had leaked classified intel to Russia Today and was arrested. During interigation she allegedly gave-up the location of Gonzalo Lira, proving that he was infact still living in Ukraine. He was arrested again and this time charged with illegal immigration, intent to disrupt the war effort, and to provide intelligence to a forgin power at the risk to national security. He was later released on bail awaiting trail and was told not to leave the region, but would later live stream himself cycling to the Hungarian border with the intent to seek asylum. He was arrested as the border crossing, handed back to Ukranian police, and currently resides in an open air prison just outside of Lviv.

Thanks for the information, as mentioned I was out of the loop on most of the drama. Especially that he returned illegally to Ukraine. In the final analysis, I think that this information (If completely correct) changes my opinion of Lira from a person that took some questionable decisions in Ukraine to someone that really really went out of his way to fuck himself over. But I don't think that it clashes directly with the thesis of "Amoral, inelligent people can easily become deatached from reality". Or do you think that it one of these facts invalidates one of my arguments? Anyhow, thanks for the comment.

You should do a comparison with Earnest Hemingway in WWII. He seemed to be going through a similar phase, and he ran around in an American military uniform, with an entourage, trying to be a sort of war reporter and celebrity hero. I heard he wanted to carry a sidearm, but the military wouldn't let him. Real soldiers thought it was nutty, but he was indulged.
@timothykuring30163 ай бұрын
I listened to him because I had similar opinions on things like vaccines and NATO. I did hate his dating advice when it went amoral, so I believe I wrote critical comments at those times, but it wasn't very shocking because the amorality has been common with American men and dating coaches for decades. I always found that women hated moral advice, and men might listen to it, but they would reject it as being impractical when dealing with women. They were convinced that if they didn't do what women expected, even amoral and immoral things, they would never find a woman. They were sort of right about that because American women violently hated a moral approach - it wasn't television and movies enough for them.
@courtssense3 ай бұрын
Well, I would say that if a woman hates the moral approach that says a lot about her, but by no means is this true for all women. Just psychologically damaged ones.

He’s a goofball, and truly is an internet character. He’s not smashing models like he used to brag about in his videos. He’s not some dating expert. He’s just a good videographer which helps the presentation of his content to look more legitimate. That’s about it. He knew there were bitter older men burned by divorce, and he got into red pill. Then realized there are young men who get no action, and made content about dating for them. Eventually he had nothing going for him, and went down this rabbit hole of “the west is doomed” and moved to Ukraine (literally nobody cared about his videos at this point). He looks like a film professor trying to play as some Casanova, that’s the only credit he gets.

You've effectively stereotyped his audience. I know many men who have been very successful with women and are married who would not refute any of the advice I've heard him give. If you are a "player" or a "ladies man," and have dated many women, you absolutely know how most women work and can accurately assess his advice. You can make a case that anybody on youtube is a "goofball", but much of his content is summarizing what most men will learn, the hard way, as they deal with more and more women. I think younger men have a right to a "heads up" when trying to navigate what is going on out there. Especially after they have been indoctrinated to believe that THEY are toxic, all women are victims, and all women should always be believed.

What I learnt from his downfall is that supporting Ukraine for "freedom" is a big joke.
@justachannel86003 ай бұрын
I don't think Ukraine was purely contrarian - although you are right that is a big trap for the right. I remember when the Trump hearing started I - as an European - was kind of flabberghasted that they were arguing about an insignificant and probably highly corrupt eastern European nation. I guess had I paid attention to such politics, which generally don't interest me, it wouldn't be that surprising. In retrospect I think it is indeed kind of like in the video game Victoria 2. As a big nation you can pour influence a small nation to get it as an ally. So in the case of say Java it could be both Britain and Japan trying to win and, well, the loser of that race might just try to invade. And I think that kind of happened here. Except that the US seems to be split between two different houses who are infighting. And I've come to understand that my countries government will always be on the side of the Democrats. Well ... coincidentally of course. So, yeah, I'm not happy about it, being dragged into a proxy war for people who certainly do not have my best interests at heart. Does that make me pro-russian? No, but of course I would not mention my opinion in public. So that's a nice red pill, I guess, the world is a video game and we are the npcs. Colonialism v2. Anyway, as for CRP, I agree, he was very unhinged in that time. We can only speculate what brought him there. But I guess we can say it in the words of that one musician. Perhaps he thought it is better to burn out than to fade away. Did it work? I think not. Still an interesting piece of internet history.

Im angloamerikanischen Raum sagt man "the juice ain't worth the squeeze anymore". Es gibt ein Sprichwort, scheinbar aus Afrika, welches mir dazu passend erscheint: "The boy who has not been embraced by society, will burn down the village to feel it's warmth." "It's better to burn out than to fade away." (Neil Young)
