In today's episode, I would like to share with you the story of the bankrupt tractor brand SWED-TRAC. SWED-TRAC created by the Ingemar Pihlgren in Sweden was supposted to be a new hope for the Swedish tractor industry. This interesting tractor project was created on the basis of polish Ursus heavy duty series and that shouldn't be suprising, because its inventors were in fact an Ursus dealers in the Swedish market. In total they created 3 series of SWED-TRAC tractors:
SWED-TRAC model I
SWED-TRAC model II
SUPER SWED TRAC (model II)

Would you like to do a story about Torpedo tractors. They were produced in Croatia during Yugoslavia under the license of Deutz Fahr and some of own models of tractors. The factory has an interesting history of manufacturing everything from weapons to tractors and marine engines.

Thanks man. The history of Torpedo as a company is very interesting , and when imagines that the company that made torpedoes and marine engines starts producing tractors under license from Deutz Fahr. That sounds very interesting to me.

For some time I was involved with TRANTOR UK, both the Series One and Series Two models, culminating with driving a demonstration Series Two around Southern India. TRANTOR would go through many similar crises as SWED TRAC before finally closing down manufacturing in the UK. An Indian version was developed in India, but as always TRANTOR never truly identified its core market and would be overtaken by improved speeds on conventional tractors and the emergence of the JCB Fast Trac.

Thank you It was a very interesting video. I am in South Australia and I think you would enjoy the Chamberlin story. Chamberlin is an Australian built tractor well respected giving their owners years of reliable and economical service, then finally taken over by John Deere in the 1980s. I do appreciate the ruggerd design of the european tractors and the harsh climates they work in.

Its sad this marque never took off, but one thing that catches the eye are those chrome grills and exhaust, really on the farm..??

Awesome video as always 👍 I think here in Finland is (or has been) only couple of Swed-Tracs. Ursus was quite popular, there was also Finn-Ursus models sold here. I don't know what that Finn adds to Ursus tractors, maybe more powerful heating or cab insulation? Also faster tranporter-models were sold and aftermarket turbos added by importer in Finland. Ursus tractors are also quite common at tractor pulling in here, them are so robust and can handle lot of power, here's one cool looking one kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bapheMR71q2aZKM.html
