Annoyingly I kept track of the cards if tidal wave would have helped and I think in this case his choice was overall correct. The weapons did more good than bad. The one away from lethal against shaman was 50% chance of tidal wave in hand and the other case/s?/ where he really could have used tidal hand he got it from the spellburst. Not saying it was exactly right, but they would not have helped much I feel

@@Reynewang what was worse was him not picking up fist, lightning bloom, and one frost shock instead of one of those 4 drops, and then not take the 5 mana weapon and take tidal wave instead. Tidal wave is such an insane card right now in arena. The only reason the winrate is so low is because most people missplay the card, and the turn/turns proceeding your playing of the card.

The problem with Rod of Roasting, and any card that has the chance to target your board, hand, health, or deck is that you need to counteract your winrate with your lose rate. It's so hard to gauge the actual stats behind the card, because it has so much variance to it. Any card that has the ability to decrease your winrate whenever *YOU* play it needs to have really good design to be fun to have in the game. You're better off with Yeti in your deck in a lot of cases, due to the sole fact that it won't sabotage you.

@@xVibra Yeah, that's exactly the point I was trying to make. Old Yogg was "great" because you had only a small chance to die and could serve as a huge tempo swing, with card draw, potential board clears, and not too many other negative effects. However, he was great at the time of his release because cards like "Cataclysm" didn't exist back then. Now Old Yogg is much less consistent, but still follows the same tempo effects to a lesser degree. On the other hand, New Yogg has a bunch of bad effects on top of the tempo swings. Playing a 10 mana 7/5 that gets Goggles with no enemy minions is TERRIBLE. Filling your hand with random spells that cost 0 this turn with a mostly full hand doesn't do anything either. Likewise if you fill both boards with Rush minions, and your minions had already attacked, you might just give your opponent lethal. This level of variance is something fun for constructed, but ultimately will tank your win-rate overall, and as such is absolutely terrible for arena. The upside of New Yogg does not outweigh the downside and the limitations of card only add to the problem of his inclusion in a draft. I will stand that Old Yogg would have been better than Kel'thuzad in this draft had he been offered instead of New Yogg. There was multiple times during the games where Kel'thuzad was effectively a dead draw. They serve effectively the same purpose of being a huge tempo swing, but Kel'thuzad requires a damaging spell in order to get value and prevents the usage of other spells while he is on board so you don't "waste" the spellburst. Old Yogg does not have this limitation and would open up strategies a bit better simply due to the fact that he doesn't require anything except that at least a few spells had been cast this game.
