I watched St Johnstone Football Club v Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub (LASK) in the Europa Conference League at McDiarmid Park.

The game was full of drama! Two red cards, a penalty and lots of abuse for the referee. It was a really entertaining football match and I wish St Johnstone all the best for the future.

Thanks for the coverage and the backing of the young team. I can’t get my head round people bad-mouthing young lads who choose to bring colour and noise to their local team. Every football fan should be applauding this outlook, but sadly too many feel guilty about not choosing their local team!!

As a Hibee living in Vietnam, I was gutted to see the Sainties going out. Really would have loved to have seen Hibs, Aberdeen and the Saints all going through as they all more than deserve it and the fans are some of Europes best fans, loyal, loud and proud!

its better they went out if they arent good enough but teams like lincoln red imps are in it, st,johnstone look like giants compared to them, hibs defo are giants compared to a lot of teams in the groups but they must be good or they got a lucky draw, time will tell, i think a lot of teams are going to get pumped

greetings from linz, i gotta say first half you were pretty clearly the better team, so much so that the lask trainer was asked in halftime how worried he is, not is he worried, just about the degree. he replied: not much yet, they cant play at our speed for 90 minutes. (to be clear he didnt mean to offend anyone, we are just very direct people) but given that bevore minute 60 almost all saints tackles were on point and almost all second balls yours and after more and more super late tackles and fouls conceded, i think he might have had a point. starting to think that man knows what he is doing. still wish we could have qualified without kicking you out though :(

Before i watched a game at Eintracht Brauenscweig( v 1860 Muenchen), a night game here during the mid - nineties is the coldest I've EVER, EVER been watching Football!! Jeez.

Great atmosphere was great see the ground jumping shame couldn’t make it through. Anyone who’s having a go at the young lads making noise or atmosphere give your head a wobble. Next season 3rd place goes straight into the Europa League playoff. So at least Conference group stage football is guaranteed for a third Scottish team which is great for the league.

I'm not a saint Johnstone fun but respect to the Fantasia and the team two cups in a season st. Johnstone who defaulted do that my wife what's that about when the saints go marching in quite literally congratulations anyway it's so close but yet so far respect well done everyone and your manager deserves a statue outside the stadium for the extraordinary effort👏👏👏⭐ and I am a Partick Thistle say that usual play everyone

It’s a shame that those fans don’t go every week. It was an amazing atmosphere. Maybe lower the ticket prices? It’s just a shame that st. Johnstone don’t get bigger crowds. I’m at Rochdale tonight against Colchester in league2 . Tomorrow Man City vs Arsenal.

Great video Sam , quite embarrassing some of the comments from mainly OF fans , I can’t make most games on Saturday cause got to work to pay bills and stay 35 miles away and a lot of saints friends play football on Saturdays, a lot of saints traveled from all over for the European games ,yes it will be back to 3000 home fans but for population of 50000 that’s not bad considering most of Scotland support the ugly sisters , FCU brilliant again hopefully see you troops at my next game against Dundee, do celtic and rangers fans even watch 90 mins grounds usually empty after 70 min suppose they got to get there buses back to Perth, Inverness and all over Scotland

all the ultra thing has increased the color of fans, teams like st,johnstone and raith dont normally have good fans, i used to go to clydebank games and they had a half decent core of ultra type fans but you go to a partick thislte or kilmarnock game these days and you wont get much singing, its very dull

you lot always jump into nowt to do with you. we aint interested in Gers, or your under 10 year history of formation and at least saints fans stay to the end of games. The abuse steve g got when Hamilton pumped yas 1-0 is unforgivable. Of course you will be one of the 3000 fans from years ago before yous bought trophys ..

At what? Numbers? Of course not, we have a tiny catchment area, but compare well to most other teams for percentage compared to population.

@@ianmacfarlane1241 our population is 50,000, so you must be taking the whole of Perthshire and Kinross. Did you do the same with Aberdeenshire and The outskirts of Edinburgh etc. I have done this exercise, and i think it was only Kilmarnock and Ross County and the anomalies of the Old Firm that came out better. And as you say there are a number of factors such as Perth being a big commuter town…

@@ianmacfarlane1241 - I would love more to go, I feel we deserve it, but as I say, when I did a similar exercise, Saints were better than Aberdeen, the Dundee sides and Hearts and Hibs… all who have had a period of success in the past to hook fans with, Saints never have, we are living though our success… And having numbers doesn’t mean it is a good support. The passion shown and backing of 20 is better than thousands sat on their hands rustling sweetie wrappers.

Shame for them coming from a Celtic fans point of view really rooted for them, BUT why can’t clubs like this turn up for the not so glamorous European games? They’ve proved they have the support yet for domestic games it’s half empty and all you hear is it’s because everyone else supports Celtic or rangers or even a English club instead when the proof is there they are capable of good support

Plenty of locals who don’t support Saints usually go to the big games. But I would say we are the third best supported team in Perthshire behind the Old Firm, sadly.

Games like this show how much potential there is in a Scottish football without the strangulation of Celtic and The new rangers in our league. The fan base is there in all clubs but with those two in our league the potential will never be realised
