They are 3rd gen yes. They debuted May 26, 2015. It's nice to see them in the HYBE family because they can interact and hang out with BTS and other groups they came up alongside and became friends with more easily. It's fun seeing Mingyu hanging out with JK and seeing Hoshi and Woozi on Suchwita with Suga and then hanging out with him after the show. I love that they do dance challenges together as well. I know that in the past k-pop fandoms made things seem so competitive, and sure it is a industry where you compete. Honestly, tho it's really nice to see idols being friends across company and group lines because there aren't many other people who can understand what the life is like. An easier way to put names to their faces is watching sub unit songs. The 3 sub units are 1. Vocal-the Singers (Woozi, Jeonghan, Joshua and the 2 main vocalists Seungkwan and DK Songs: Pinwheel, Habit, Don't listen in secret, Second Life, Same dream/Same mind/Same heart, Come to me, Imperfect Love Hug 2. Hip Hop- the Rappers (S.Coups, Wonwoo, Mingyu and Vernon) Songs: Trauma, Gameboy, Check in, Back it up, If I, Lean on me, Can't run away 3. Performance - the Dancers (Hoshi, Jun, The8 and Dino) Songs: Lilili Yabbay, Highlight, 24/7, Moonwalker, Pang, Wave I don't understand but I luv you This way you don't get overwhelmed of trying to remember 13 names and faces all at once. Pledis Ent. really hit jackpot when they placed this 13 individuals into 1 group. How can a group of this much members have such equally talented individuals of singers, dancers and rappers is really amazing. I love Seventeen! 🥰

Vernon was born in New York, his dad is Korean, his mother is American. So he is mixed. But he always said he is KOREAN because he moved to Korea when he was 5 years old. Oh and yeah they are the 3rd gen.

Woozi (a highly empathic INFJ) said he wrote FML in the middle of the night, and it was very hard. He himself was going through a hard time (something similar to what's known as "the dark night of the soul). He said he had to dig deep and face all the "demons" and negativity that not only he was experiencing (think of their song "Shadow" which is all about doing shadow work and integrating/embracing your own "dark" side) but what people worldwide are facing right now, and it became very emotional for him and HARD to write the song. The purpose is to express what I would say the majority of the world's population are thinking/feeling right now, especially in those countries where people are under surveillance (Seungkwan, a whistleblower, in the corporate world, trying to escape like Truman did; DK finding a camera in his lamp and drones outside his window, so he smashes his TV which may also be spying on him; etc.), where everything wrong seems to be happening (Woozi doesn't even HAVE a driver's license and doesn't drive on purpose, so he probably would feel dumb trying to start a car and turning on the wipers instead...but Truman's car wouldn't start either), Mingyu having a stage camera fall on his car (just like the camera fell nearly hitting Truman in The Truman Show...Wonwoo trying to leave but getting blocked only to end up with it raining on only his right side (meaning the world is fake)...there are SO MANY references to The Truman Show in this video it's unreal!), Joshua saying goodbye to a friend only to find a button pin just like Truman did sharing Truth. They're all trying to escape the "set" or "stage" of life, but keep getting blocked. Truman desperately wanted to go overseas, purchased tickets, but was too afraid of the water to go. Woozi has a ticket, but keeps getting blocked...again, just like Truman did. The only way Truman could escape was to put a dummy in his bed (like Hoshi) so the producers of the show would think he was sleeping while he ran away. Did you notice that the drawing in the mirror that Hoshi is looking at is a monkey...referring to Sonongong...the mythical Monkey King of their latest blockbuster hit? And another thing I found significant is that as Dino is looking up at the night sky, the Big Dipper constellation changes into the Southern Cross. (The Cross.) The title of the book Woozi is reading is "Microwave and RF Design of Wireless Systems"...a tip of the hat to a "conspiracy theory" that we're being zapped with negative energies via technology (including our cell phones). It's significant that S.Coups finally walks over and turns off the lights on the set, indicating this life is nothing but a stage. Once the lights are out, that's when you see the ocean, with storm clouds forming in the background....just like the director of The Truman Show created to drown Truman once he finally beat his fear and got on a boat. TOO MANY references to the movie; and it's EXACTLY how people are feeling everywhere. Even Minghao (aka The8) said he's felt this way many times, and his only salvation--which is everyone's--was to find himself, which he does through meditation. So overall I think the video is beautiful...Seventeen letting their fan base CARATs know THEY UNDERSTAND what they're feeling...especially those in China and other tightly controlled countries...and that the way to overcome is to return to and find yourself. Don't quit, don't let the numbness (apathy) set in, don't hide your feelings by just laughing it off, don't fear your past self embarrassing you now because your past self isn't who you are now. And don't we all have a "secret" from the past that we're too ashamed to tell anyone? We can't let it define us NOW. FIND YOURSELF. FIGHT For Your Life (the billboards behind Jun read "Nothing Will Make You Happy", "Waves of Fear Coming To You" l, "Never Make Mistakes" and "Avoid Challenges/Stay Safe"...the messages/propaganda of the world and what we must fight to find ourselves and WIN. Personally, I cry every time I watch it...not only because it hits home for ME, but watching others' react and seeing their pain breaks MY heart. We must NEVER think we're alone; and one day on the other side of THIS Truman Show we're all in, we'll come together, REMEMBER each other, reunite and be whole again. I look forward to that day every second I breathe. Recently I watched an interview with Vernon, Woozi and Hoshi. They were answering questions from fans, and the last question was, "In the next life, what would you want to come back as?" Woozi said if he HAD to come back he'd want to be a cat: someone to love and feed him, and he could sleep all the time. Vernon, however, said, "But what if I don't want to come back?" Paraphrased he basically said that this life isn't real and there's more beyond here. Hoshi immediately said, "This is The Matrix", to which Woozi said, "Yeah...this is The Truman Show."
