My Great Grandfather was called Patrick O'Reilly and hailed from BallyJamesduff, I'd have loved to know the man.

My Great Grandfather also came from (near) Ballyjamesduff. He grew up on a very small farm in the 1860s and 70s. Went to Australia in the early 1880s. Maybe they knew each other though.

@@maddyg3208 Mine wasn't born until 1914, but they could be some connection I don't think it's to big of a place. But very interesting non the less.

@@fredbreadbun6277 Maybe some of my GGF's relatives who didn't leave knew yours, the family was living there until the 1960s (and in fact still own the original land in Cavan even though they live elsewhere now).
