Hi! Hope you're having a great day and would like to start a conversation about this. From my perspective, Meghan seems to be engaging in a series of activities (like the panel with The Economist, the cookbook for the charity she was working with and this Vogue cover) that she thinks will be more effective in bringing about the societal improvements she has in mind. She has to do this publicly because she has been given a public platform and is (or, at this point, was) vocationally required to be a public figure. I imagine that she's doing this so that people might start having discussions about the issues she's bringing up within their own social circles and might be inspired to help in whatever little way they can, which wouldn't happen if she was doing everything in the dark, which would also spark criticism. Furthermore, it seems slightly unfair to criticise Meghan for virtue signalling while the queen visits victims of fires or terrorist attacks with a camera crew and the other members of the royal family do the same and Bill Gates, et al, also attract and welcome attention for their causes and yet don't also get accused with equal voracity of being holier than thou.
