Dos fundamentos citados por ela, Pelé ganha apenas no número de gols, e isso não é fundamento para determinar quem é o melhor. Sem nenhuma dúvida, Vários jogadores foram melhores do que Pelé, e cito dois deles : Zico e Maradona.

Sin duda los dos mejores jugadores de los 80! Zico tenia una elegancia increible, y Diego era sumamente fantastico, plagado de recursos basados en el control de la pelota. En este partido, Diego se llevo la victoria con dos goles, uno con la mano (otra de sus cualidades, sin dudas) y uno de tiro libre. Pero ambos son unicos.

zico (Arthur Antunes Coimbra) era muy bueno le falto un campeonato mundial pero era un crak tubo la oportunidad de oro en el mundial del 82 con esa generación tan buena que tubo ( zocrates, falcao,Eder,junior entre otros ) no lo pudo hacer pero fue muy bueno y mas con ese baile que le pego a la Argentina golean dolo en ese mundial ( 3 a 1) y haciendo sacar a este maradona después de semejante patada que le dio precisamente a zico y ahora biene a entrevistarlo típico de maradona

Zico is a legend player but unlucky , in world cup 1982 Brazil showed football from other planet but didn`t win the cup .. Zidane in 1998 didn`t do anything just jumped twice in the final match and got the cup ..

Colega Bacana Zidane muito melhor que Zico, sem discussão, Maradona nem se fala. Falar que Zico é melhor que Platini aceito, que Zidane e Maradona, sem comparração. E o Pelé não sabe de nada, já disse que depois dele vem Cryuff, Beckenbauer. e ainda tem Garrincha e Di Steffano, melhores que Zico, que só foi importante pro Flamengo.

Zico was only 32 not very old for a midfielder and Napoli had been close to relegation the previous season. Both of these players were amazing.

@@Donfrak No, 32 was not old for a midfielder in the 80s. Yes, careers were significantly shorter in that era than today, but it still wasn't old for a midfielder. It was old for a striker, not for a midfielder. In fairness I do think Zico plays with less energy in this match than he did when he was younger. OTOH, the injury that really changed him as a player did not occur until he returned to Flamengo. Zico famously played until he was 40. It was by no means uncommon for good midfielders to play into their late 30s. You wouldn't really expect to see a significant decline in performance for those kinds of positions until around 35.

Totalmente. Lo que si es cierto igual, es que el nivel de Mane y Diego en sus mundiales fue estratosférico. Pero SOLO no gana nadie. Es muy difícil que algún jugador repita lo que hicieron Mane y Diego en el 62 y en el 86, les salía todo y no solo por efectivos, sino con mucho arte. Eso si especialmente Diego, no driblaba solamente, me parece que ahi no estuviste acertado.

Both played superbly in this match but if you watch the whole game then De Agostini was clearly man of the match. He had a fantastic game. Neither Maradona nor Zico dominated the game in the way that they could. Technically Maradona is clearly the best player on the park -every touch is electrifying and it seems like he could do something exciting every time he gets the ball. Some of his touches are just breathtaking. Zico' s far more chilled and plays a more relaxed but beautifully smooth game. Towards the end of the game his running off the ball to link up play really starts to shine and he crafts a couple of really stunning moves (this is something he excels Maradona at and no doubt also plays a big part in his superior goal scoring record). As you'd expect with these guys on the field this game is marked by a series of outstanding free kicks. Udinese were clearly the better side. Both teams are excellent from a technical perspective but Napoli rely on Maradona utterly for creativity. They barely ever get into Udinese's penalty area and when they do it's pretty much always thanks to Maradona. Udinese mark him very well and if he gains possession they press the ball hard with 3-5 players. Napoli's defence is far less effective. Carnevale and De Agostini supplement Zico's creativity and Udinese crafted a series of attempts on goal. Napoli owe a huge thanks to their goalkeeper for keeping them in it. As it is they were very fortunate to scrape a draw and that with a last minute goal that, as is well known, relied on a Maradona handball.

Zico was only 32 years old at the time of this match -he was not past his prime (though he'd had an injury plagued season that year). Anyway, absolutely amazing performance by both players.

Zico has never been beaten by Maradona in the field. Besides, he scored more than 800 goals in his career, whereas Maradona scored about 300. Zico was far more effective than Maradona. As soccer is a team sport, only one player is not able to win any championship by himself. Zico was not as lucky as Maradona, although Brazil 82 is still remembered as one of the best teams ever.

Could you contradict yourself more in 4 lines? If Zico was part of one of the best teams ever, then how come you say he was not as lucky as Maradona? Brazil 86 was also a spectacular team and if I remember correctly, Zico missed a penalty which led to their ouster from the cup. Furthermore, if soccer is a team sport, then why bring up Zico's goals? Looks like you are one confused Brazilian who just cannot admit that Maradona was superior to any damn Brazilian footballer ever. Here, I am not forgetting Pele who was little better than average at best by today's standards.

+Zeus Olympus Maradona foi campeão porque teve Careca como seu companheiro. Zico poderia mesmo ter conquistado mais títulos. Contudo, Zico jogou em alto nível até os 42 anos de idade. Aos 34 anos, Maradona estava acabado. Além do mais, sempre que Maradona conquistou algo era porque estava dopado. Um gordito só conseguia correr mais que zagueiros ingleses não por forma física, mas porque o anti doping era tecnologicamente limitado na época. Enfim, Pelé é outra história, 1.287 gols na época em que a bola era muito mais dura, as chuteiras pesadas, os uniformes ficavam pesados quando molhados, a iluminação nos estádios era péssima, os árbitros erravam de propósito mais vezes, os torcedores da América do Sul xingavam jogadores de macacos e atiravam pedras no campo. A época de Pelé era muito mais difícil praticar futebol, sem dúvida. A medicina não ajudava muito, Pelé tinha miopia, não havia lente de contato. A fisioterapia era muito precária, contusões no joelho eram praticamente fatais. Pelé, aos 25 anos fazia 100m em 10.6 s, uma marca até os dias de hoje, os gols de puxeta, bike, bicileta saltando 1,5 metro. Imaginem Pelé nos dia de hoje, com treinamento, suplementos e vitaminas disponíveis no mercado, seria capaz de marcar 1.500 gols certamente.

By today's standards, Maradona would also not be able to play. The standards will always change in time. Fifty years from now, Messi's standards will seem amateurish to many. That's not the way to evaluate this.

Zico left Udinese because of taxes problem whit the governament of Italy. Zico here in Brazil played for the bigest team, Flamengo, this team got something about 40 millions supporters just here, he is a GOD for this 40 milion people, and respect for the most of the others fans of the sport. Unfortenely he misses that penalty against france in 86, and a small part of brazilian press crucified him, Whit lucky, when Messi retired whitout a world cup, he will got the full respect the he deserves

Zico scored MORE goals than Maradona did in his whole career *ONLY AT MARACANA*. Above him in number of goals, only Pele, Romario and Tulio. In overall terms, he is the closer one to Pele, like Pele himself said. A genius so complete in a mix of state-of-art football and objectiveness. Better than Pele in some points, indeed. Sorry, it's the truth, a great player, but light years distant from the 'Free Kick Sniper' Zico at his golden place in the Pantheon of Football Gods. Zico is "the Ayrton Senna of soccer" and was so, so, underrated in Europe just because some stupid regionalist notion or pure ignorance about football.

+rale deadpool Você tem razão. E Ronaldo evitava cabeçadas por ter ferido gravemente um colega aos 16 anos de idade, no Brasil, ficou traumatizado com o lance e passou a preferir apenas os pés. Sem lesões, Ronaldo teria marcado 600, 700 ou 800 gols. O problema de tireoide também o atrapalhou, pois teve que parar aos 33 anos, muito cedo para um atleta parar.

That team coundn't win. Coach Telê Santana told players not to give Zico the ball because the was to be under too much pressure form defenders. But that's exactly how he ALWAYS played. I Always wondered what happened, since after Gentile got a yellow card and Zico would have had na easier time than he was already having, he did not get the ball. Well, many years later Zico himslef told this story on TV. Watch that game and tell me if he was given a chance. Saddest day in soccer history for me.

Sou palmeirense, naturalmente detesto o Flamengo, agora o Zico...pqp, o cara foi uma aberração. Maradona foi um gênio e é reconhecido como um dos 5 maiores de todos os tempos, mas qualquer pessoa que entenda um mínimo de futebol TEM de colocar o Zico neste "bolo" aí. Ganhou mais jogos "sozinhos" que qualquer jogador que eu tenha visto. De quebra ainda é um sujeito bom caráter, o que é raro.

+Erika Arroyo En este video si algo se ve es que Maradona tenía 24 años y Zico ya con 32 años no estaba para ser el centro de atención en la elit europea pero nada más. Realmente si los comparas en su mejor momento, Maradona era mejor que Zico, porque cubría más campo jugando, el pelusa era un todo terreno pero Zico en el Area chica era letal. Es cuestión de donde los quieras poner y en que equipo jueguen. Ya se habian enfrentado en el 81 con Boca y Flamengo y al año siguiente entre Slecciones en el Mundial 82. Maradona perdió las 2 veces esterepitosamente. Con la Seleccion fue más bien un duelo táctico entre DT's, entre Menotti y Tele Santana. Y el planteo de Santana fue mejor y más complejo por lo que la frustración de Maradona le llevó a ser expulsado. Pero en el 81 fue más o menos la versión opuesta a esta, Zico se lució jugando y Maradona no hizo prácictamente nada, claro tenía 21 años y Zico 28.

These comparisons are never accurate. Just as if you compare who played better in Spain 1982 when they played against each other. Zico: one goal and one beautiful assist to Junior, plus several great plays. Maradona: was shown a red card. But then again, Zico was in his prime and Maradona was still in the making.

In 82 Zico wasn't in his prime, he was 29 years old and already declining. His prime came in his mid 20's from 77 to 79.

+BurnRoddy in 1982 Zico scored the most in his professional career: 44 goals in 48 matches. If that's not his prime I don't know when it was. You assume he was old at 29. Pele, for instance, was 30 when Brazil won the World Cup in 1970 and one could say that was one of the best performances in the history of soccer.

Federico Ramirez In 1982 Brazil was under Tele Santana, perhaps the greatest football coach Brazil has ever seen, the 81 Flamengo team that won the Copa Libertadores and Intercontinental Cup was the continuation of a project by Dino Sani another legendary Brazilian coach. In 77 to 79 Zico despite being part of an amazing team he used to play outside of the box more often than since the 1980's onward, so he scored less goals but his dribbles were longer and scored more long balls as well.

+BurnRoddy that does not mean at all he was not still in his prime in 1982. Again, look at the number of goals he scored that year, plus there is no way one could say his dribbling skills had declined. In 1983-84 still he had a great season with Udine. All I said in my first comment is that Zico was at a higher level than Maradona in 1982, whereas in this match Maradona was at a higher level than Zico. Therefore, all those comparisons limited to this match are inaccurate. Let's not get caught up with one word: "prime." I watched the 1982 World Cup back then and there is no way one can doubt Zico was still in his prime. This is my point of view and the point of view of a lot of people back then. If you think differently, that's your point of view and that's fine for you.
