I think the decision regarding which songs will make it to the live set is made as they're rehearsing the songs before recording them, based on how things are feeling... Some songs you know will kill on stage and others just make better album tracks as the pacing and/or arrangement doesn't really work with an arena crowd. A tour of unplayed favourites would be the coolest thing ever if they were able to do it in smaller venues, with the focus being on the musical performance rather than the overall stage show and running around 😊

I really don’t know why!! Like also Infinitive dreams, losfer words, flash of blades!!! This one here is one of the best maidens‘ songs for me, and one of the best melodies/songs i‘ve ever heard!!!

It probably just didn't feel right live. Some songs just don't work within the context of the set or with the vibe of the snow. Others just end up feeling messy or even like something is missing when you play them live. It's a weird thing but some songs just work better in the studio while others might work better live!

I think it's because the riffs and solos on that album are unique sounding and particularly memorable all while being simple enough for a young person who might not even play an instrument to understand. And it's probably also the age at which we discovered this music... 🙂

I actually did a thing on Instagram where I showed how Adrian's solo in this song is actually a full-on blues solo by playing it over a laid back Chicago blues backing track in B minor... Works perfectly!

Oh believe me...I'vehad my shares of struggles with all of these songs over the years 😆 They can be tricky to play exactly right! Glad you enjoyed the video and so hope it can help you figure out any challenging bits - I try to include close ups and different angles for these covers so that the fingerings are easier to see. It's a great lick to work on your string skipping 🙂 Try starting the legato on the G string with and Up stroke and the E string with a Down stroke and keep doing that pattern for the duration of the lick.
