I am reading “Traitor” a 2022 biography of the D&D of Windsor by Andrew Lownie. The similarities with H&M are downright creepy. This is a quote from the jacket cover “it is a story of a couple obsessed with their status, financially exploiting their position, all the while manipulating the media to portray themselves as victims”. He calls the Windsors spoiled, selfish, people obsessed with their image. They bounced around from one rich friends mansion to another. And yes Edward was not in love he was obsessed. During the brief period they were separated immediately following the abdication Edward slept with sixteen photos of Wallis surrounding him and hugged a pillow with her initials on it! Edward was a man child just like Harry and Wallis was a social climber just like Meghan.

I am going to vote for useful idiots for both couples. A fragile ego and insatiable thirst for attention made both couples easy targets for those harbouring more sinister intent.

The personalities of the four are very similar. The situation however is very different; Edward was the former King. Harry is so far down the line of succession as to make him irrelevant. Your videos continue to be exceptionally well-researched and presented. As for the two couples in question, both appear to have an excess of both ego and stupidity. Both appear to be knowing participants in acts/words that could be defined as "treason", as well as seeming to be equally lacking in intelligence in that there is no apparent appreciation of the self-destructive nature of those acts/words, nor of the obviousness of the spiteful (at "best") drive behind same. The old expression: too clever by half, too stupid by whole, seems applicable to both couples. Making them both treacherous and useful idiots. The more important answers needed are: to whom are the modern couple useful? and in what way? Without those answers, there may be no productive solution to "the problem".
