When a Steely Dan producer asked in an interview how Donald sang into the rhythm back in the 70's he said :"He punched in" means he kept singing until the track was perfect. By the tune and the rhythm together.

There are definitely lots of younger fans out there. I'm 27, but I know of younger people than me who are heavily into this era of music. Great music lasts forever. I learned Jay Graydon's solo in Peg note for note when it came out, and performed it live many times. It is harder than it sounds. This guy was allowed to riff his own solo and his tone and choices were far from the masterpiece Jay Graydon laid down on the original. He did the same to Larry Carlton's masterpiece in Third World Man.
