Do the Minnesota Vikings play their games in Ohio? Is Minnesota a city in Ohio? If you answered no to both of those questions, congratulations. You are smarter than a first grader. You are also smarter than Buster Rhymes, who gave about the worst possible answer upon being drafted by the Vikings.

Back in the waning days of the ABA, the Carolina Cougars moved to St. Louis to become the Spirits of St. Louis. To say the Spirits were a circus is an understatement. The Spirits had a player named Marvin Barnes who is often described as quite the character. One day the team was scheduled to fly from Louisville, Ky back to St. Louis. Due to the time zones(eastern to central) the plane was set to land in St. Louis before the departure time in Louisville. Barnes refused to get on the plane. His reasoning? "I ain't gettin' on no time machine." He rented a car and drove instead. That's next level stupidity.

Brent Fullwood who would be better known as the biggest Packer draft bust and one of the biggest all time NFL draft busts if Tony Mandarich didn’t exist was picked 4th overall 1987 he had the lowest Wonderlic score ever because he spelled his own name wrong. 4 years before Mr. Rhymes was drafted by the Vikings Dexter Manley was picked by the Redskins, in a 2011 article in The Atlantic called “The Shame Of College Sports” he admitted that at the time he was drafted out of Oklahoma State he was unable to read or write.

I guess Rhymes forgot to think for a few seconds and assumed he was going to Ohio in some capacity (most likely the Hall of Fame or if the Vikings played against either the Bengals or Browns in Cleveland or Cincinnati) instead of Minnesota. But nevermind given what became of his career.

to be fair, thinking minnesota is a city in ohio is not as bad as not realizing that football games can end in ties, and then seconds later wondering what would happen if the super bowl ended in a tie. its also, at least to me, not as bad as the captain of a team saying "we want to kick that way" or something similar when they won the toss and meant to say defer, but thats a closer call.

Buster Rhymes grew up in Liberty City, Miami, best known as the setting of the movie Moonlight. You can probably conclude that he might not have had the best opportunities at an education growing up.

The wearing of #88 was in the pre-season and not when it counted. Grant and Page did not get along but Grant knew nobody else was ever going to wear that jersey ever again. I use to call him 'busted crimes' back when he played at OU. And honestly I think their have been less intelligent players than him up here.

Cocaine may explain why he said Minnesota, Ohio. It reminds me of Lester Hayes' post-Super Bowl XV interview. He did play for Barry Switzer at Oklahoma, so maybe stupidity is contagious.

For what it's worth, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) put out official state highway maps in 1977 and 1978 containing the fictitious small Ohio towns of "Goblu" and "Beatosu." This was right at the peak of the Woody Hayes vs. Bo Schembechler "Ten-Year War," which Schembechler ended up winning by the narrowest of margins (5-4-1), and I guess somebody at MDOT thought adding fictitious towns in northwest Ohio would help the maize and blue. Then again, would our video subject Mr. Rhymes have the brains to read a map? Survey says no.

Just wait until 2030, when two teams play in cities named Arlington (with or without a Heights after it) yet neither is listed as playing from that city. Oh, two different Arlingtons in different states and divisions, so not the two LA teams playing in Inglewood or the NY teams playing in East Rutherford.
