I thought it was false solely because it mentioned his father flew him to Louisiana because he wanted to be buried in Joshua Tree, and I was just like... no? That's nowhere near where Joshua Tree is! But I guess he died in transit to Louisiana..? Is that it?

@@baydiac I believe his stepfather? wanted him buried in Louisiana, because if Parson's state of residence was established as Louisiana he could claim control of his estate. Parsons body was at the airport in LA (he had died in Joshua Tree) about to be sent to Louisiana when his friends stole it and then drove BACK to Joshua Tree.

I've also read from somewhere that Genghis Khan died after falling off the back of his horse. It's unclear if the horse was standing still or in a full gallop (the latter would make more sense to kill Genghis Khan).

@@latexu9589 I thought Ghengis was infamous for being castrated by a wrathful woman and bleeding out, so them calling his death "unknown by all historians" and "a top secret mystery" puzzled me. I was SO SURE that meant the story was false, and then when it came up as true I did a double take lol.

Fun fact, I was excited with the Draco death because I know the story! I'm sitting there saying it's false, and then the card says true which is incredibly disappointing. The Suda chronicled his death as the card states but it is known he lived the remainder of his life in Aegina after being ran out of Athens.

Fun fact: The pronounciation "Jingus" is closer to the truth than Gengis. His name was actually pronounced Chingus Haan, Haan being the tile of king. I'm pretty sure there was a mix up in one of the European countries didn't have the ch sound and changed it to a g. Also, the h in Mongolian is pretty far in the back of the throat so it is written with a kh even though there isn't a hard k sound.

I would just like to congratulate Ian and Anthony(who unfortunately could not be here due to him leaving smosh) on 15 years on youtube it is an amazing achievement and you have come so far and to be as popular as you are for as long as you have isn't easy so I just want to say thank you to all of smosh, the filmer, the editors and all the rest of the crew for putting a smile on my face each and every day. I've been a fan of Smosh Games for a while now and Ify's always a blast to see. The episode was great. That said, I hate seeing a fascinating piece of history getting misconstrued. Forgive me, but my inner nerd won't shut up until I get this off my chest. Eleazar didn't see the elephant carrying the king; he only assumed that it was because of the armor it wore. As far as I'm aware, there was no evidence that the king in question (Antiochus V) even attended this battle. Regardless, he died in the following year, so whether he didn't or did attend the battle in question, he definitely didn't die there. Even if that elephant was carrying him, he wasn't killed.

Interesting concept for a boardgame, but very little replayability, because you would definitely remember some of these scenarios. Yeah, they can create an infinite amount of expansions, but it wouldn't be worth it to sink in money for such little replayability.

Could they have clarified that Eleazar is in 2 Maccabees, a book that 2/3 of American Christians don't accept as part of the Bible because they're not Catholic? Most people haven't even heard of those books...I heard the story and thought "False, unless this is some apocrypha stuff."

Same. I said false because I would have remembered that story from the bible, it sounds like something crazy you would have found in Judges, or something. Then I thought maybe it could have been in one of the Macabees, but I didn't like that since it's not considered part of the old testament by a large segment of Christians. I was wrong because of a technicality, and I call shenanigans
