Guitarist Saki said this song is meant to shine a ray of light into everyone's heart. It's Nemophila's latest song and was on the setlist for their most recent shows: Club Citta May 17 (saw that) and Zepp Fukuoka June 3. They're presently on a tour of Zepp facilities. They've been getting a lot of attention recently in the Japanese music media---easily as much as Band-Maid, or more. Btw, Saki has some things in common with you: she thinks Band-Maid is great and she's a fan of Babymetal. Saki does instrumental gigs in clubs with an ad hoc band periodically---I've seen a few of those, and she really shreds. The most recent one guitarist Hazuki, her Nemo bandmate, was a guest.

Nemophila is projected to achieve its true potential, topping most of other Japanese bands in a very short time. In addition to their skills in playing instrument and compose brilliant songs, each of the member also has such a beautiful and humble personality. Combination of all those will bring the band to the new height internationally. Nemophila really remind me how much I love heavy metal and trash metal music in the 80s-mid90s, as if I just met my 'old flame' that I left in the 90s without a proper closure.

Please remember, this is my view, Ray Of Light, is their weakest song by some considerable distance. The guitar riffs and solos are wasted but at least they vastly improve the song. Mayu's screams are annoying as the message and meaning of that part of the lyric is incoherent. I don't mind a few words or one line using Mayu's talent for screamo but as with their song Hypnosis, the sceamo adds nothing but takes away from the overall quality of the song. Glad you liked the song but it is not for me.

@@HarveyAnk Thank you for your question. It is not that I don't like the screamo style but for me Nemophila, do not always use it well. If you listen to the sadly now disbanded Dazzle Vision or Hanabie, they are bands that use it well. I repeat again, these are my thoughts about Nemophila, Dazzle Vision and Hanabie, not statements of facts.
