Good job man.I was there in 71& 72. Went to Asylum almost daily with Glenn. First trip out there Glenn was living with Henley. Linda & JD lived on Gower behind Capital records. The next year, Glenn was living with Paul Ahern( later to become Bostons manager). I was at Don house that was on stilts, spooky. Great view

Thank you! Especially cuz it was a bit of a wild goose chase tracking down that Henley house on stilts. I'm guessing that you're Glenn's younger brother? I'm from Detroit myself and I've loved him ever since I realized it was his voice drowning out everybody else on the chorus of Ramblin' Gamblin' Man! Would have loved to have been part of that scene but missed it by a couple years...

Just heard the news about Randy Meisner. I always felt like he was the great unsung hero of the band. He was a great bassist, no one was more solid, but his high harmony vocals gave them a sound like nobody else. RIP Randy. You will be missed

Incredible journey. We were at the Troubadour the night that Linda took an intermission, explaining that her band was going on their own. The lights dimmed, and then on stage the lights came on and 5 guys in the most radiant red satin bomber jackers stood with their backs to the audience. Emblazzoned on the back of the jackets in gold letters, was "Eagles". They played Witchy Woman and Take It Easy...when the finished you could hear a pin drop. As was a sound no one had ever heard of rich harmonies. Oh what a night it was

I can't tell you how many times I used to stare at the inside cover photo of Hotel California, examining every inch, don't know what I was expecting to find, the mystery was continuous for me! @cindypowers4993
@cindypowers4993 2 жыл бұрын
@@RockessentialTim Exactly! Buying an album was like purchasing a book, with music. I would read every inch of the album credits, from lyrics, to who played which instrument, to lead vocals, harmonies, who produced the album and where. Everything. Sometimes even the inside of the album itself had neat, clever sayings etched in the vinyl. One Eagles album (maybe On The Border?) said "He who hesitates is lunch" ! Anyway, albums are treasures, and some of the album cover art/photos are classics, and part of our culture, worthy of framing. Sorry for my lengthy comment.... Hotel California, with the music and front/inside cover photos, like you said, is iconic. Yes, I love records. Especially the EAGLES✌️

Yes, that makes perfect sense to me. I was an East Coast "transplant" in the early 70s, and the line "you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave" really captured the feeling. You could "check out" on any number of substances, but God forbid you could never leave! No - it was the home, the life, we had come to find.

EXCELLENT VIDEO; WELL DONE: So sad, to see the memories of the canyon we all traveled through to get from BEN FRANK'S restaurant for at least twenty years, to geT back to the San Fernando Valley's Ventura Blvd and Studio City.. there was a famous guitar store on the corner , can't remember the name of it.

I love your channel! I lived in Huntington Beach and Sanna Babylon in the 80's, but never spent much time in LA, such a cool town. Shakeytown, right Jackson? I am a music freak and into every single person you have ever mentioned on your blasts. Fugging excellent. Thank you.

great Video i’ve read and heard all the stories but i grew up on the East Coast and never really got to go through the infamous LaurelCanyon or actually California ingeneral i was out there but at that time i had a Wife and smallChildren so my obligations were to keep them happy and Entertained i’ve been a big Fan of the Eagles and most of the other Regulars Associated with the Troubadour the Qualude bottle was a good funny here is another kind of Funny about Qualudes in General i grew up inSouthFlorida where i graduated High School and lived Off and On for many years , although in my early 20s my thenWife and I decided to move toMaryland to raise a family and i wound up having a great Career and lived there for almost 30 years i made some great Freinds and one of them is a guy that was Born and Raised inBaltimore in the late 60s and early 70s he was basically a Hippie who did wind up cruising America with his now wife of many years in a Van he Customized with living quaters and accomodations he also had a Buddybthat built a hand Press out of Metal that they could make Qualudes for themselves to use and /or for sale and Distribution now a couple of his Buddies in that Business Venture took it upon themselves to keep up with the demands and changes in the illegal Drug Trade ,Sales and Manufaturing so naturally in the late 1970s and into the 1980s they shifted intoMarajuana thenCocaine so they also wound up moving toSouthFlorida and buying big Waterfront MansionsinThe Florida Keys and my Buddy who had known those Characters his entire Life would go down on Vacations to hang out as a Guest and of course to Party Ironically he also remembered that hand crafted Qualude Press being at one of those guys homes inKey Largo of course it had the Legendary 714 somit would produce Realistic Counterfeits well over the Years that Press went missing and everyone just scratched their heads Fast Foward to the 1990s and was living inFlorida again and i ran into a guy i knew years before but hadn’t seen in like 25 years Well we were Partying and Jamming together at some House Party we both wound up at and Stories came up of different groups of people we knew from decades earlier and of those times Well my Buddy brought up Qualudes and how they were tied into the Music World BTW he was a Session Guitarist for many years at Citeria Studios inMiami which was where Robert Stigwood had all his Acts Recording like Clapton,The BeeGees , Olivia NewtonJohn , and a few others and my Buddy that worked at Criteria in the 70s and 80s mentioned he was at some House Party years ago and Traded some Music Equipment for a Qualude Press because he knew the Musicians would pop them like Candy plus he thought the thing was just Cool he totally admitted to me that with all the Spring Break Tourism he and some other guys would crush up Asprins and stamp them to look like a Qualude then sell them in Bars to tourists they would never see again yes it was a Scumbag thing to do but he said they sold them like crazy for 4 bucks a pill apparently as fast as they could make them as thousands of young Collegecage Students would spend Weeks living inHotels Drunk out of their minds on their Spring Breaks then would go back to their home States and Schools well that guy i know still has the Press in his possesion and of Course Qualudes are no,longer a desired Drug for RecreationalPurposes and most of the Younger people don’t even know what they are i just thought it was funny that two Drinking and Fishing Buddies could solve a 40 year old Mystery despite we grew up in different times and a thousand miles away from each other now besides that Music Connection i had with that freind of mine We also ran in the same Circles in the Marina and Boat Trade which is how he actually wound up meeting all those guys fromBaltimore origibnally because they used a Marina to keep severalBoats they used to bring Cocaine into the United States coming fromSouthAmerica at one point it went to the Bahamas and needed to be sent toMiami for Sale and Distribution

It would have been nicer if you would have included Randy Meisner and his background . Maybe a little more of Bernie too. Randy wrote Take It To The Limit and both Bernie,Randy contributed too to the sound of the Eagles too. Felder came up with Hotel California The Eagles wasn't ust the Frey and Henely band.

They thought it was. Real selfish bastards. And their bubblegum music sucked. Don Felder was the one w the talent.
