Күн бұрынPhotography was introduced to the world in 1839 in France by Louis Daguerre and quickly spread throughout Europe, the United States, and the rest of the world. Surviving photographs taken of human subjects outside over the next decade in the United States in the 1840's are some of the most scarce in existence. These are all either daguerreotypes or salted paper prints from calotype negatives.

Chu, you really have about the very best vintage photos of all vintage photo sites on KZfaq. I’m sure there are a finite amount of photos to be had and that worries me because I don’t want to see an end to this most entertaining channel. I don’t know what to say but keep it going until you are completely exhausted sir. Your loyal subjects will always be there!

I can't enough of your channel. How someone could ignore the significance of the photos, is way beyond me. The only thing I would add, is that if it's possible to find current photos that match the location of the old ones, just to point out the stark contrasts.

I'd say that the union hotel was the one in Flemington New Jersey which was recently scheduled to be torn down national historic marker where the Lindbergh trails took place still like to work out

Union Hotel J.A. Lancaster photo's location could be from Willistown, Chester Co, PA. 1850 US Census shows James Lancaster as Hotel Keeper at that place. This is outside Philly.
