Amazing detailed review! This is what we, usual peaople, watchers, audiophiles expect from review of some device: reviewer go into depths of the unit, explores and study it from all sides and compare it with different devices of lower, the same and upper price. Fantastic channel overall! Really like sound-signature of its presenter :) Advice: it sould be nice to heart comparison with the same kind devices like ifi signature, BL Chord mojo2, Centrance M8-v2 etc... GLHF!

This is a portable amp really to use with your DAP when you get home. I use a Cayin C9 for the job and interestingly, when that came out, people clamoured go Cayin to add a DAC to it. Great review, thanks.

Thank you for the wonderful review! While waiting for my Verum 1 to arrive (it's gonna take sometime I fear) and noticing that your report it pairs well with the Earmen eagle, I was wondering how the Verum 1 would pair with the mojo 2, that so far is my head of the list, and how the mojo 2 stacks up against the Earmen eagle. Anyone here among the viewers can share any thoughts about it?

The battery rating that you gave, was that using balanced output or single ended? I'm assuming it would last a lot longer in single ended? I read a review on Head-fi that stated the following "When powering the Sennheiser HD650 and Hifiman Arya SE, the Angel lasted me about 7 hours on a single charge". Also for anyone that is interested in the headphone power output specs as they are not listed in Earmen's site/specs in watts, they are, Single Ended: 1.62w @ 32 Ohm, Balanced: 2.25w @ 32 Ohm.

no most can run 12-13 hrs no prob, even the small sansa, good ones rated 18ish or smth prob more thing is with portables they tend to charge at important moment, sleep time, but theyre silent and well, portable

Why you didn't compare with the original= ifi micro black label ? The king of all one box units. Off course, who have ear to hear it.

Looks like a straight up rip off of my IFI IDSD Micro Dac Amp. The case is identical right down to the ribs running down each side.

That's false. Many companies have dac amps that look like this in metal cases. I owned the first Earmen amo in red, and have owned many Ifi Idsd dac and amps and they are nothing alike in size and look.

The A30 Pro uses Toppings NFCA Architecture it is literally incapable of coloring the sound just like the THX architecture of years past and it's output amperage as well as voltage is more than simply adequate it's well above average.There's also the fact that it is the exact same NFCA architecture that the A90 amplifier you said was better than the Angle uses. So I'm not sure what that was about but the difference you heard had to have been in your head. Have someone help you blind test with your A30 and A90 and you'll know why I say this...

And yet, the difference between A30 pro and A90D tonality, deteil retrieval, and soundstage is as clear as day. I didn't do the blind test myself because I don't care for proving something that obvious to anyone who doesn't belive that I'm capable of hearing what I claim to hear, like you're doing. But, I did organise it for two other persons and both noticed the difference without much trouble. So that oversimplified theory about NFCA not coloring the sound and all amps based on it simply doesn't hold in real use. Try it for yourself and see.

I'm giving a piece of information that is a truth in my case, but that "grain of salt" means it's not a standard test that I repeat in the same way with every device. So it could vary with different headphones, volume levels, etc. For example, in another comment somebody told me that other people got 7h with SE out and different cans... I've got 5 with low sensitivity plannars on BAL. Both are real but in a different conditions... It's better to know both of these than to trust any single info to be a 100% representative of what you will get out of it.
