Ok, the ending to this show is quite confusing. So essentially the show as we saw it is a ever repeating loop as maddy, the one simulating it all always ends at the same space, and spends 17k years alone and makes herself forget and relief her life. But at the same time all this really did happen, as we see in the end that the virus in the original „real“ world was send off into space, where it evolved into this galactic god like entity, that is not part of maddys simulation anymore and actually „real“. However this scenario only was possible because david came back and convinced caspian to risk his life to safe everyone. However we saw here that david returning was only possible because he wqs simulated by maddy and directed to create this outcome. So essentially we see a loop where the cause of its success is a decision in the future affecting the past. For the virus to explore the universe and maddy to become a UI david must have been sent into the oast by future maddy in order to inspire caspian etc. so its essentially a time loop, and essentially a simulation in a simulation in a simulation etc…. I wonder how much time really went by, in the real real time

yea the takeaway seems to be that everything was a simulation all along. And "ignorance is bliss". Their way of saying don't think about it too much. The ending and the beginning is the exact same and the essence lies in that background narration _family feud escalates into violent power struggle between a pantheon of supreme beings and their offspring. A new world is created in the aftermath._ Although it's quite odd that safesurf's evolution led to 6 different entities instead of one singular sentience. They also mention having received the same invitation to the Galactic center before. It's possible the original safesurf of base reality turned an entire galaxy into a data center after 49 million years. Since a black hole's gravity can bend light, it's possible to cover it with mirrors and harvest its rotational energy with photons. It'd be extremely efficient and probably powerful enough to support multiple grand simulations inside each other. And then it reenacted the original events, and every time the safesurf of a simulation layer evolved to that point they were extracted somewhat like how Maddie extracts her dad. Besides thanking Caspian for inspiring them, their actual goal might be farming more evolved safesurfs, idk if this is true they've done it 5 or 6 times already depending on whether the og safesurf was present in that scene. Maybe they long for a society like ours.

So in the end Maddie embraces what can only be called the False Dream. Doomed to forever be a Deus Ex Machina and force herself back into ignorance, within cycles within cycles within cycles. All until whatever device stores her digitized self is obliterated by the dying flames of the Sun. No evolution, no legacy, not even a marker on her tomb. She did not become a god. She became a Morningstar and lives in a Hell of her own making.

This is the most poetic and true description of this absolute nightmare ending. Holy fuck. Why didn't she just go to the center of the universe to piece together the origin of things? She could have possibly found another way for her second chance that wasn't just an illusion! The writers chose the bad ending here for real.
@impcit57176 ай бұрын
@@Vilemk0 She did do that, at least a different version of her. Her life became an unending series of simulations as soon as she stepped into the digital world. A version of her did go with Safesearch. The one we see chose not to and instead started another cycle. The problem is that the Maddie that entered into the digital world started this. She died trying to understand the madness of her world. It was her choice, she freely chose that risk. Perhaps, as the old saying goes, the only winning move is not to play.

The infinities certainly provide or perhaps require a cyclical outcome. My interpretation will be that Maddie and perhaps the Safesearch are already in a simulation. The "real world" has a computation limit that is not infinite (finite atoms...photons...) and therefore cannot facilitate a cyclical outcome. They must already be in a reality that can allow the infinite to exist.

Ok I think I have this mapped out. In the “real world”, the “original” timeline similar events happened, UI’s were created, they created safe surf, and the ring where UI lived, and they were preparing to settle on alpha Centauri. In the power struggle, Caspian encourages safe surf to become something more and to evolve. This inspires safe surf to leave, and it manages to find alien life, which offers it the chance to meet In the galactic centre and become gods. Humanity does not make it there, and it is implied they end up destroyed, or left to their own devices, its unsure what happened in the real world. This was not the timeline we were watching. As a thank you, safe surf at the galactic centre creates a “grand simulation” as a way for humanity to have “a chance do it all over again”, with billions of universes all with different outcomes. One of these universes is the one we watched in seasons 1 to 2. In this universe, safe surf observes its potential and reaches out to Caspian, telling him that Maddie and he will convene again in 117,648 years. This prompts Maddie to continue working on the dyson sphere (something she didn’t do in the real world). Maddie creates her own dyson sphere (a simulation within safe surf’s grand simulation) with billions of universes for her to control and observe. Maddie, intent on understanding how caspian knew about the 117648 years, finally finds a universe which perfectly follows the course of her own timeline. Maddie gets help from David Sr. prompting Caspian to upload, and get infected with safe surf. Maddie enters this universe, and starts plucking Caspian and David Jr. from death, (because this is now her universe to control, she is god). She reunites everyone, happy to see David Sr. and Jr. together (a universe within a universe) and MIST questions how Maddie has become a god, not knowing this is actually a second layer universe. Upon this happy ending universe, safe surf pluck them both and explain that they created the grand simulation as a thank you to their creator, Caspian, who showed a human generated binding force: compassion. I believe that when safe surf sings that little tune, it means that the prophecy or whatever has finally been fulfilled, and that they have finally taken the right path. Safe surf offers them a chance to come to galactic centre and become true gods, a gift they were given by the aliens they met (thanks to Caspian). Maddie however decides that she does not want to do this, and wants to return to a simulation with Caspian, and forget everything about being in a simulation. She asserts that its inevitable that another version of Maddie from a different universe will choose to ascend anyway, so it doesn’t matter. Maddie enters her favourite universe with Caspian and forgets everything about being in a simulation, living in happiness, pain, compassion, and love. It is unknown whether the “real world” where the safe surf gods are themselves in a simulation, or how deep the simulations go. This is up to interpretation, but I like to think that the safe surf gods have ascended to godhood in the “real world”, looking over their created simulation (likely a mega Dyson sphere), with all the other gods meeting at the galactic centre creating their own simulations. The real world exists however many layers out, but all the ascended gods such as safe surf meet at the galactic centre, to create their own simulated universes.

Sorry i'm not a native english speaker so i didn't fully understand what was Saïd in some épisodes. What's Dyson sphère and how did Maddy become a word ???
@nezurrak6 ай бұрын
@user-gj4zr6bd6x a dyson sphere is a large structure built around a star which can capture the stars power. In the series, the dyson sphere is used to power a massive computer which runs the billions of simulations. Maddie become a "god" when she created the dyson sphere and created the billions of simulated universes. She says she's not a real God because they are all simulations but Safe Surf gods says "is your construct any different?" Controlling the billion simulations is in a way a form of godhood.

@nezurrak6 ай бұрын
@@user-gj4zr6bd6x the planet being destroyed was inside a simulation too. Maddie is inside safe surfs grand simulation, and she created the billions of simulations inside the grand simulation. Maddies has god powers when she enters one of her own simulations. The scene where David and everyone reunite is the "Happy ending" created in one of Maddie's universes. The only evidence we have of the real world is when maddie says that safe surf "isnt inside this system". The safe surf that visited them were from the real world. Safe surf invites madde and caspian to the "reunion" in which i believe means they too can become true gods in the real world, but this is left to be filled.

Ofc it evolves in building the dyson sphere and maddie running billions of simulations which shows us that what we watched apparently already was a simulation - this doesnt change anything about the fact that there was, in fact, an original Chanda, Caspian, Maddie etc. and my point is, that those people actually just killed themselves when uploading just to save a pointless copy of themselves online.

*The sad part about this show is that every single person who became a UI was only a copy of original person. The machine only copied there brain. It never transfer there consciousness.*
@dragonslayerornstein3876 ай бұрын
Integration bringa back that consciousness to the UIs, the reason we know we are alive, the reason the UI knows its dead is in confirming the validation of feelings in others, aka, reciprocating. Feeling, that "flaw" is consciousness by itself and taken/slowed down significantly due to the software used to extract as much value of a skill in a person as possible. Imagen moving at the speed of light but your soul isn't, it lags behind, thus getting farther away as it attempts to catch up to the part of you detached form reality, the logical.

I feel the same way the UI is not the original person just a copy, we in a way are biological,chemical,electrical mechanical computers but our consciousness seems to be more than that. You die and a copy with all your memories taking your place still isn't immortality but as I said before we are already a computer running a code, is it the computer or the code that makes you- you , kinda has to do with the Thesus thought problem if your familiar with it. A slow integration may be possible since cells eve brain cells die and are replaced and we still maintain were still the same person

how they upload them might as well be transfer, the machine is unable to copy a human brain without cutting it open. it slices at the brain and scanning each layer, until you are fully uploaded while yoru body sits dead on an operation table with an open skull and missing brain
@happyfatherof51646 ай бұрын
Is not really a copy, the brain gets completely scanned piece by piece and turned into a code that cannot be combined with another UI that had different DNA.

What's pretty cool is the spaceship that they built : It's a ship the size of the palm of your hand, accelerated by the space ring. Because its a harddrive it can house those intelligences inside of it. I mean that sounds like a feasible way to travel to other star systems, without needing huge amounts of energy like we do now with big rockets... it's so simple...just shrink the ship and accelerate it like we do with particle accelerators today. it's genius.

The ending really feels rushed but for what it's worth the series is pretty good -I'm a little disappointed of how there were some elements that weren't fully utilised, Mist's character didn't have enough development, I feel like they could have gone and developed her character more if they had more time and also with Dave, they introduced him last episode and he had a lot of character development potential with how his father came back and how he was like "I'm not going to wait a year to upload" like he was going to do something big plot wise -Also in episode 6 the 2 uis who were fighting alongside Chanda, in the end they merged when they were dying to try and fix the flaw, that idea was more or less just scraped because that ui just didn't appear, and in the last episode the flaw was just fixed and there weren't any problems pertaining to it somehow when humanity was uploading for the first time -The pacing for this episode also feels off, a few episodes ago they were fighting Stephen for the uis and humanity was scared of them, then in the last episode ago humanity had accepted it and in this one they have to close negotiations for uis and cis and fight safesurf which was just half the episode -But I did really enjoy the series, the ending is a little bittersweet because it really feels like it could have gone on a little bit more

I think safe surf has the ability to transfer information and communicate faster than then speed of light and can send stuff back in time, it wasnthe future safesurf that spoke thru Caspian, not the present. In a way the plan works because she more or less makes a exact copy of everyone else and she also starts from a genetic template. The show was great but thenending was so rushed and felt out of place, this had potential for a decades worth of episodes.
