This is why I don't take ring culture surrounding players seriously as a Laker fan. Like I said, total wins are not a good way to judge a team's ability, ESPECIALLY when injuries throughout the regular season are the reason the East's win shares went down. It's so annoying hearing Laker fans talk about the East. Their takes suck. The top 8 East team racked up a ton of dominant wins over playoff teams in the West, so I don't want to here about how they couldn't compete and how they wouldn't go far in the West. You're lucky guys like Giannis, Dame, and Khris, as well as the full Knicks/Miami roster wasn't healthy becaus they would prove your bs takes wrong.

I would say this is more a testament to the pacers play style than anything else. Every other game we see teams being held to under 100 on both sides but vs the Pacers all of a sudden it’s at 120+ a piece. I do think Boston has a tendency to just get good players and then just let them play which makes them look stagnant sometimes but at the same time they did win 60+ games so it’s hard for management to really look at themselves and think they are doing a bad job

boston in 2022 eliminated the defending champs, KD and kyrie in a sweep, and a very difficult miami team by winning the conference in game 7 on the road. in 2023 they eliminated the MVP of the league.

I'm not a Celtics fan, but a win is a win. I constantly hear people downplay the Raptors 2019 ring but you play who is in front of you. They can't be held responsible for what injuries or records the rest of the East has. But at some point this core of the Celtics gotta win a ring.

Injuries have made multiple teams in the east look far worse than they are. Boston of course, Knicks, Bucks, Philly, Cleveland but to a lesser degree. All these teams are viable and competitive against the top Western conference teams if healthy.

I do agree that the conference is significantly weaker than the West. However, as a slight to defense to them the top end teams were very injured. Sixers missed Embiid for the majority of the season or else they’d likely have more wins. Bucks had a lack of consistency in both their lineup and coaching. Miami usually coasts in the regular and they had injuries with Herro. Even the Knicks who did finish with 50 wins could’ve possibly gotten 55 or 56 with Randle OG and Mitch healthy. I do agree that Boston has faced essentially no challenge and that the conference is weaker but I think you’re leaving out a little bit of context.

Not every game is gonna be a blow out. That's just how the Celtics have always been. When they are on full cylinders it's not even game it's over in the first quarter. BUT sometimes despite your best efforts shots will miss and you won't be able to shut down every single teams offense.

Keep in mind that eastern conference also has a weaker schedule compared to the west teams due to only having to play each western conference team twice a year as opposed to 3-4 times if you're actually in the west.

NYK was injured the entire playoffs and a lot of the season MIL was injured the entire playoffs and Giannis went down towards the end of the season CLE was injured at the end of the playoffs and a lot of the season IND faced some injuries in the regular season PHI was injured the entire playoffs and a lot of the season MIA was injured the entire playoffs and a lot of the season even the non play off teams in the east ATL faced some injuries in the regular season CHA was injured 8 out of 15 of the teams in the east is a ton. Whereas in the west MIN faced some injuries in the regular season PHO faced some injuries at the very beginning NOP faced some injuries in the regular season and the entire playoffs POR faced some injuries in the regular season MEM was injured its definitely a difference.

The Celtics have alot of individual talent, but you cant really trust this team especially Tatum and Brown they can not read the game like Luka or Joker can. They are both fantastic players but theyre more worried about doing the flashy plays and not the individual play. Until they realize that they will stay stagnant

This is how you fix it. The top 4 from each conference are the top 4 seeds. Then the bottom 8 are the remaining best 8 teams, any east vs west series can be a 2-3-2. All the young stars are in the west, you get a more competitive playoffs and also a more equal lottery. Getting top 4 in the east still gives you home Court and you should still get an east vs west final.

All season I've felt that we've been the biggest pretender in my lifetime. There has not been a single moment where I truly felt like we will ring without a stupid fluke, particularly after watching literally any top 6 western team game and seeing how fluid and solid they play.
