You should probably mention that this tutorial is only for Java edition. When I flick the lever the second time, the piston only activates once and then stops.

I've used similar in the past, just with the piston facing downwards. Since it's fast enough it doesn't destroy the farmland. I think I like this better just to avoid that risk. For anyone wondering, it works because crops need light to grow. When the piston is open they see the light but once it closes the darkness pops the crops out. Bonemeal is automatic so all you need to do is keep re-planting. Just be aware that getting the timing might be tricky if you're on a laggy server. Fantastic farm.

Thanks! I couldn't get the forward-facing piston version to work. Not sure if it was just not enough light or the piston was too fast or what, but the downard-facing piston works great!

Works on 1.20.4 vanilla realm Java. I built exactly as described, but it didnt work the first couple of times I tried using it. After not finding any answers in comments or on reddit, i tried it a third time without changing anything and it started working. So if you/re on a server, try starting and stopping it a few times, it could just be server lag not letting the plant have enough time to grow before the piston breaks it.

One thing that I have to say about this farm is that it's obnoxiously loud lmao. But this farm design is so good, especially if you have Looting III sword and mob grinder. All that bones from skeleton finally can be used for good

How do you get this to work on bedrock? (you said in a lower comment you got it to work on both versions) I'm playing on a Realm on 1.19.62 it doesn't seem to work as the piston won't move rapidly.

I think mojang could make some Java stuff work on bedrock. A good example of this is being able to build above the nether.

just ditch the stairs, make the piston aim down instead of forward (so it actually pushes the wheat into the dirt) and it works perfectly

Works good on 1.20.1, but sometimes bugs out, not having enough time to grow anything and spitting the seeds back. (Edit) I actually found another flaw. The dispenser on which the lever is placed consumes less bonemeal than the other two (or maybe it's the opposite), so when the other two run out, the third one is still filled. And the farm can't really be auto refilled - two dispensers can only receive items when the farm is on, and that one can only receive when it's off. Can't really afk there, not for long. Which really sucks, the farm itself is pretty cool...

what if you put hopper with big chest full with bonemeal to this dispenser with lever cause this one and one with observer uses bonemeal and third one don't use any actually

@@AkaiNami no, they both use it, just not equally. The one with the lever always has some left when the other two are already empty.

@@outcast4087 so mine works different way one with lever is always empty same as this with observer and third never works, also i have put hopper with chest on back this one with lever and when whole machine is started to farm then bonemeal goes from chest to hopper then to dispenser other way when i turn it off it doesn't even come from chest to hopper

Yeah it must be a weird directional thing, my dispenser under the observer is always half full when the others are empty.

I managed to make it work on bedrock, I used a powered minecart with a pig on it (So it moves faster) and it sort of works, but it's too slow

This is honestly more of a seed farm for me. The piston fires too quickly to guarantee that that the plant is grown in time, which means it harvests half grown wheat, wasting bonemeal in the process.

I'm on the latest Java edition, I built it exactly as shown, the piston fires repeatedly just like it should, I hold down right-click on the patch of farm dirt, but i don't harvest anything. I don't think the piston breaks the crop, so it just sits there consuming bonemeal. Any solutions?

It happened to me too, but it turned out I was just having bad luck timing the holding of the right click to compensate for the lag on the server I play on, third try I got it to work so just keep trying to hold right click till it works correctly

@@Blaugran30 but like I said, I think the problem is the piston isn't breaking the wheat, so right-clicking on a fully-matured wheat crop won't do anything...

the piston itslelf doesnt directly break the crop its the Missing light in the Block where the crop is place, ctreated by the enclosed room between the dispensers, the staircase and the piston. This means when the piston opens theres light and the crop will grow when it closes its dark and the crop gets destroyed

Probably because sometimes a crop only requires 2 bonemeal for it to mature leaving the last dispenser unused

Not working on my single player java 1.19.4 vanilla world. Built exactly as in video. There are torches around for light, I have water source and used stair as in video. I can place the first crop, but then it gets bonemealed fully and just doesn't pop off the farmland. What could be causing this?

Figured out the culprit. For some reason, you cannot have a hopper beneath the stairs to collect drops. I guess it's because it's not a full block, but I have no idea why that would affect the farm at all...

Same here. It grows it fast but then just sits there and doesn't break the wheat. I've used this farm in the past and it worked, not sure why it isn't now. Java 1.19.3, not on a server.

@@andrewbroekhuijsen6770 I had this too. It was fixed when I filled in all holes that were next to the farm block. So all blocks surrounding the tilted dirt were other dirt blocks, except for the water source block

That's not a resource pack, the effect is created by shaders. (Complementary Reimagined, with PBR enabled)

The First Problem is that the Piston wont Come out. I repaired This problem with a redstone clock but the Second problem: i can’t Place the crops through the piston and the Third problem, the crop wont Harvest, if There is no light…. Any suggestions of fixing?

windows edition IS bedrock edition, this farm wont work on bedrock because of the difference of redstone in both versions, i believe this farm;s redstone utilizes QC which doesnt exist in bedrock

Man I just found something INSANE! If you use a sticky piston on a block, slide it over the croped dirt, it doesn't break the farmland like slabs and still breaks the crop! We can have auto harvesters now. Line up some hoppers under for collection, and maybe you can have along row of crops take 3 bone meal as soon as you're done placing the last seed make an entire harvest finish with some kind of bone meal farm mounted above. The only thing you'd have to do is plant, and you'd be done! You probably could add a auto sorter to sort the seeds from crops as well.
