Awesome! In situations such as apparel where there could be more than 2 parameters (eg. Design, size, color) would you create a separate selectable variation for each or would you combine any of them? I’ve seen some shops combine size and color into one drop-down menu for example…. Thank you!

I’m so glad you made a video on this! I have been wanting to know how to add multiple variations to my listings and didn’t know how to do it! I just started my Etsy shop in June this year. I have multiple products but my phone cases are what sell the most. I’m selling about a case a day now and I have yet to offer personalization. I have been wanting to but haven’t spent the time to nail down exactly what to do to streamline the process. This video is perfect! Stephen, thank you for taking the time to share your wealth of experience. Quick question: Your research method identifies the best of the best sellers to target and learn from. But do you ever concern yourself with competition stats? Most KZfaq guides talk about targeting low-competition, high-search volume keywords for new sites to get traction. But your method seems to be the opposite - go after the highest volume from the top sellers. Is this because you turn on the paid ads to push your products to page one? Thanks! Greg

Quick Question - I created some floral phone cases. I’m new at this for sure. I was looking at the USPTO site in regards to trademark. It has IPhone listed and one of their products is phone covers. So, can I use Ipone with number after it in my tags. For example IPhone 12, 13, 14, etc. Thanks!

I have the same question, I know the SKU's are from Printify but if you don't publish using Printify, when the order is made in Etsy how does it inform Printify? Or the Sku of the order do that?

Thank You QUESTION: I was under the impression that CANVA requires to change the design before using what CANVA offers in our designs. I noticed you were duplicating the design or enlarging it. Does that satisfy the CANVA requirements?

I'm not Stephen but I know the answer. Canva does require that you modify the design. Stephen is using patterns here that he downloaded from Creative Fabrica. These have a print on demand commercial use license. To my knowledge they do not require any modification but modification is always a good idea. I believe that when he added the wood line at the bottom with the name and did the zooming in and out for the size of the pattern that would be enough modification even if he had to satisfy it for Canva.

Quick question, once you’ve created the variations in Printify, do you leave them as drafts or do you publish them? I created the design in Canva, uploaded it into Printify, saved it as a draft as you said to do in the tutorial, created the listing in Etsy, copied the SKUS etc., and duplicated the listings on Etsy. Now once a customer orders a variation all I have to do is promote the order through Printfy’s Other Orders tab right? Love the idea of Hello Custom, I’m just not there in sales volume to be able to justify the subscription yet. But once I can, I’m all in! 😊

Hello! Adding SKU numbers is confusing. I thought personalized listings didn't have SKU numbers to prevent them from being fulfilled with someone else's information. Would you consider doing another video clarifying when to use SKU numbers and when not to use them when fulfilling personalized orders? Thank you!

Personally I don't add the SKUs, I just manually push orders through on the back-end. But I only get like max 4 sales in a day so it isn't super time consuming 🤷🏼‍♀️

Just recently joined Hello Custom. When I try to upload the pdf (for an ornament) it won’t upload because it says it exceeds the size limit. How do I correct this? The image was created using photoshop, if that matters.

Find out what file size Hello Custom requires. In Photoshop there must be a feature to reduce the File size and/or as you save it. Also, when you resize any file in any software, the file size reduces too. I use Inkscape. Even Microsoft Paint has the feature to reduce the file from 100% to 85% thus reducing the file size bytes.

@@milopack1191 Well, I don't know that. It's really tough to launch a software, make YT content, run a print shop on Etsy and launch a new POD shop, all at the same time. I have an Etsy shop too. Very small though. But it does take my time and attention. I guess, he'll do the challenge, let's just give him some more time. I really appreciate the knowledge he's sharing. I've started applying that to my Etsy store and my store is now picking up some traction finally. So, I'm grateful for that.

why not do manual listing instead of doing all the work up front then just sync whatever sku actually sells? thats how I do shirts, looks like that would work for this too and speed up the initial process.

@@eb8697 you hook up your etsy account to printify, manually list the phone cases you wanna sell only etsy, add the variations/sku how you want(phone case model, color, etc). when an order comes to you, you will see it on printfy side then you sync whatever the customer bought. then next time if someone orders the exact same thing, you wont have to sync the SKU again, all you do is approve the order that's it. so lets say someone bought a design1 + iPhone11 case and you sync that sku one time, the next time someone orders that exact same sku you wont have to do the work again you just approve the order. you need to set all orders 'manual' on printify side.

when you made customs .... and combined the pattern with something else... do you always have to say "Someone else" designed it ? I dont get that part.. you said it was also worth doing all 126 SKUS ... but never really specified why you believe that is so crucial and rewarding in doing all of that, which is tedious for so many listings
