Hey Anu! Yes, Illustrator is not free. Sorry about that and totally understandable! Unfortunately I teach Adobe Illustrator as it's the standard fashion industry software that you need to know if you want to be a designer. Flat sketches especially are done only on Adobe Illustrator. Hope that explains why you don't see any other softwares being taught - it will be a waste to pick up something that the industry does not need.

Hie Christina 6:45 time... I am facing problem when I am drawing the basic dress on the body form I am only able to reflect the dress on another side I am unable to reflect with sleeve I am using the key Ctrl+C and Ctrl +ShiftV but I am only able to reflect the dress not the sleeve .

Hi Riya! Thank you for sharing the time stamp and noted! Could you try individually selecting both the body and the sleeve by clicking on them with the direct selection tool instead of dragging your mouse over them? Then try copying + reflecting it and see!

Hi, both are awesome for different types of illustrations/sketches. Illustrator is better for Vector artworks and photoshop is better for Raster.
