The EASIEST Way to Hang Your Tarp From a Ridgeline: DIY Tarp Toggles

If you have ever tried to hand a tarp from a ridgeline using wooden toggles, then you know it can be a real pain to get a bit of the ridgeline through the tarp tie-out point so that you can get the toggle through. You have to keep the ridgeline loose enough to do this, and then readjust.
Well, using these super easy to make removable toggles you can easily attach your tarp to any ridgeline with the line already fully tight and taught. Do yourself a favor, make these for yourself!

New subscriber here.... Great video! I have a 3day 2 night kayak /hammock camping coming up this weekend. It's calling for rain for 2 of those days so I will give this a try because I will have tarp above my Hammock and also a bigger tarp of camp area.

This is rather cool, I've not seen DIY for outdoor kit like this before. Prussiks for me weirdly gripped too much regardless how I had it, maybe the cord maybe the lack of slack idk. I tend to put a larks head through the tarp tie out loops instead of making a bite in the actual ridgeline cord itself, and use a stick from nearby :) your toggles might also help with those knots with a Barton through, I forgot what they're called but they use the knot for strength, not the rod through it. Idk if that makes sense but nice video, thanks for sharing

I just tried to make these for my hammock tarp last week. Its key to use a rope that isn't slippery. I used amsteel for both the ridgeline and the toggle and it slipped. Went to a Dutch Wasp instead.

You can do Amsteel prusiks, but you need to put it through 4 or 5 loops of itself instead of 3.
