Except this was all CGI as well as almost every aerial scene from TG Maverick (watch Corridor Crew episode with CGI artist that worked on TGM).

@@crash7098 There are several breakdown videos on YT with artists who worked on TGM that prove very few plane scenes were practical. And, no matter what Tom said, the only plane he got to fly was the WW2 plane that is his own.

@@palkokity8235 I was fairly certain that many of the plane scenes were real. not all, but many. And, they were filmed with Cruise and Co Stars in planes with Actual pilots. There are also many YT vids with producers and cast discussing what it was like to fly in these planes and “Act” for the movie. Similar to the original Top Gun flick, a mix of practical and special effects. I’m NOT under the impression that Cruise really flew fighter craft for the movie by himself.

Ecto is at least 50 percent heavier than the reference pickup and isn't front heavy. A modern LS motor was added to boost the performance but the shear amount of weight on the back would keep it from having a nice arc before landing. The suspension would be destroyed and the middle of the frame would probably buckle. Basically, it would break the heart of any fan to see the aftermath.

@@Enchilada750 The Green Hornet is still on my shit list for killing like 20+ beautiful 1966 Chrysler Imperials. There is no reason they couldn't have built replicas, they do it all the time for movies like the Fast & the Furious series.

@@sgtpepper1138 That would be thanks to the FatF series being made, produced, directed and acted by Car Nerds, who know the value of the originals. Green Hornet was made by hack comedians who don't give an eff about anything but their own ego stroking, and while Imperials aren't expensive, as classic MoPars go, they are still damn rare because of how few people could afford them when they were being produced, and large numbers have been gutted by people wanting the driveline for clone General Lee's and drag cars and the like.

They should have had the visual effects supervisor dub Jared Leto in House of Gucci so he didn’t sound like some insane heightened wild maniac caricature; but you know, like an actual person.

If you look at historical footage of who he was playing you will realize that is actually how that dude acted and sounded. He was more than a little flamboyant.

The landing ruined it for me that cady would be damaged beyond repair. a cool "NO WAY!" Moment but totally not realistic the stunt car clearly sustained some bending in the frame work and its no where near the weight.... Great team work and great job to achieve the effect though!

That's actually a deilerate shout-out to all the classic movie and TV jump car stunts of the 70's and 80's, where it would be clear the jump car was destroyed in the vision of it landing, but then the next shot it's driving down the road perfectly fine. The replicated that action from the motion capture of the pickup bending,.... yet also, the pickup bent less then a modern 'jump capable' Raptor or TRX.

The jump is cool and all but how is that appealing that he would buckle the shit out of the front of the Ecto-1 for fun in the movie?

Agreed, so they just fucked the frame up in the shot and now it's magically fine. It's just a shot that didn't need to be done. It's one of the few scenes I didn't like in the movie. The new movie had some great driving sequences.

You guys never watched these stunts in 70's and 80's films? That "busted in one shot, perfect in the next", is a 'respect' shout out to movies from then, such as The Blue Brothers, and TV shows like Dukes of Hazzard.

@@PiDsPagePrototypes Ofcoarse I did, continuity errors are not things that are reminisced. The Blues Brothers doesn't have any car damage continuity errors.

@@PiDsPagePrototypes Yeah, we get that. But this isn't 1982 and Ecto-1 was never used to do unbelievable stunts like this. It was totally out of place. Now, it racing around and doing 180s and stuff is totally fine since they actually DO that with the real cars. But it doing a Dukes of Hazzard jump is just way out of place for a Ghostbusters movie. It's my only gripe about the movie.

This was a good movie....only thing i cant suspend reality or rather movie reality .....theres no way the og team wouldnt believe egon....no way...so you mean to tell me a complete genius tells you A ENTITY OR DEITY that not only they had seen with their own eyes,fought and detoured is going to come back (because gozer had already CAME BACK the time they FOUGHT it) NOT TO MENTION SAID GENIUS HAS NOT ONLY PROVEN THAT GHOST DO EXSIST BUT ALSO PROVED YOU CAN CAPTURE THEM INDEFINITELY AS WELL AS LITERALLY ENGINEERED AND BUILT THE TECH TO DO SO AND PROVED EVERY THEROY HE HAD .....,YOU MEAN TO TELL ME NO ONE BELIEVED IT WOULD COME BACK....I CAN BELIEVE VENKMAN DIDNT ....BUT NOT RAY OUT OF EVERYONE RAY WOULD HAVE BELIEVED HIM...LIKE THERES NO WAY HE WOULDNT .....HE WAS INTO THE PARANORMAL ALMOST MORE THAN EGON ,JUST DIDNT HAVE THE SMARTS TO BE ON HIS LVL ,not that rays dumb hes just like an innocent child as in a kind soul ....your gonna sit there and make a movie basically based on how RAY wouldnt believe egon...its literally not in his character...and winston winston is a street smart , rational man full of common sense ...he knows egon is the brains behind EVERYTHING HE WOULD HAVE BEEN SMART ENOUGH TO RECOGNIZE EGON WASNT BLUFFIN ....AND IN FACT AS LONG AS THERES A STEADY PAY CHECK HE WILL BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU SAY..... LITERALLY LOL ITS HIS FIRST LINE OF THE FIRST FILM....either way thank you guys for at least tryin to make a good se-boot (reboot but also a sequel as well ) im not sayin it was bad....it was good (even though finn wolfhart literally did nothing the entire film lol his character was like a place holder lol he has nothing to do lol ) the chase scene was so cool I am hoping this next one (because there will be another) will take the "lore" and not only hold true but expand upon it it feels like afterlife was just a way to introduce the new characters and give us something a lil different and acclimate us and remind us that hey ghostbusters is still a thing , and this next one will be a full on Ghostbusters movie not that afterlife isnt ...its just like what happens on the real ghostbusters just random adventures...but this next one will hold true to not only the characters but in ambiance,feel,script so on and so forth ...come on sony you guys have so many good ips ...and you all just let them fall by the wayside

Yeah, there were a number of out of character moments that needed to happen to make their story work. I understand why they did what they did, but I feel there could have been better workarounds that led to the same place. Also, the entire blocking of the final battle wasn't the greatest, either. Made the GBs look like bigger campers than they needed to be rather than genuinely defeated.
