I'll miss Jeff but I really like what Martin and Casey did here. It's very cool they kept the musical theme somewhat reminiscent of the old, somewhat evolved, transformed, and new.

Yes they are their adults now no longer kids even though fanworks are still portraying them as children like crossovers and as for me I still see them as adults because it's finally time for them to act "More like grown ups" in the next and soon to be Volume 10 and arc coming soon.

i havent particularly liked the show in years, but the music never stopped being a banger.

Being someone who struggles with that every day, this Volume has become very special to me. I haven't had a favorite Volume since 6. But I mostly liked 6 for the step up in animation quality compared to 5. But this one? This one is different. This is probably the only Volume I've connected with on a personal level. The entire Volume (especially episodes 7-10) has captured the cycle that I constantly go through in my life. Volume 9 has become my absolute favorite Volume in RWBY because it speaks to me.

I can understand why some people might be disappointed that after 2 years this volume doesn't really progress the main plot at all, and I am looking forward to getting back to that in Volume 10... but at the same time what V9 lacks in plot development is made up for in character development. Things went *so* badly for these characters in the last 2 volumes. The more I think about it the more I appreciate this Volume giving them the opportunity to recover from that before throwing them straight back into the war.

It was better than 8, for what little that's worth! But I still can't watch this show.and not pull my hair out in frustration (hyperbole, relax folks) at how even 9 volumes in the same goddamned mistakes happen again and again. The same pitfalls in character writing. The same cowardice to truly challenge the heroine's righteousness and have them acknowledge "yeah we fucked up, no point in dwelling on it, we learn and we move on". The even had the perfect setup for them to acknowledge it when yang accuses a ruby who is having a meltdown that she is starting to sound like ironwood! All we needed was to have ruby go "and maybe we could have listened to him some more" or something like that. They could have had the official reveal of yang and blake dating by having that whole storm force them to air some grievances that had been building up in the background, confirming their relationship was happening off-screen for a while because literally no one was impressed or surprised or anything (well, maybe surprised that the show even considered their confession and getting together worthy of highlight after v6-8). Oh and jaune being used as a vehicle for a meta joke while completely missing how creepy it sounds in-universe. And I could go on, I want this fucking show to be good, it threatens to do so so frequently but then just...doesn't! Also their handling of mental issues I find insulting. You got ptsd? Hold your crush's hand for it to go away immediately. You're wounded? Ask a friend to kill you. Apparently cruel and pragmatic decisions are ok when done by the main cast. You are feeling let down by everyone? Off yourself. Do it in front of them too! That's not completely fucking psychotic. Because of what it used to be, and what it has shown it could still be (volumes 6 and 7 specifically, even if 6 was spotty) I want to love this show. But it just refuses to let me. It refuses to finally get gud for love or money.

I could go on and on about what the show does right and how amazing it is and how good it is and unnecessarily criticized compared to what the others shows are bringing.. but I wont waste my time. This show has completely changed my life and is still one of my all time favorite fantasy animated shows of all time and still manages to deliver to this day and clearly thousands if not millions agree and are still tuning in. All that begs the question, if you feel that way so strongly why are you still here. This show will go down in history as one of the greatest indie american shounen animations of all time for countless individuals.

Yeah in Volume 3 they were forced to. But now they chose to, and it turned out so much for the better for them.

@@obscurewondering3162 Rwby is not a cheap show to produce, It might have been in Volume 1 when most of the costs were keeping Monty fed and in Mo-cap suits, but it's a full massive animated series now with some of the better 3D anime style animation outside of Studio Orange. It probably costs millions to produce a volume now. So yeah, he needs to get the greenlight from the big bosses. Unless V9 and RWBY/DC did numbers it has a chance of failing. I think it will manage mind.

What I really love about this song is it feels very RWBY, but not like anything we've heard before. Typically other RWBY songs are high energy and fast, or slow and sad. But this song evokes a different emotion, something far more complex and represents a lot of where the characters are in their journey.

I highly doubt this is the end.❤ And yeah, I wished SO hard for Ruby and Jaune to find peace and acceptance in all that has happened to that, and I felt pride in them for overcoming those dark times.🥹 And what with things calming down, production of the next season might take less longer to make. After all, we still got the Crown of Choice and Sword of Destruction to get!😉
