EST quality has been improving for the better recently, the LED genesis is the best designed LED device currently.

My college just added some of these in a recent renovation! I'm pretty firmly in the _"I prefer the older looks"_ camp, but after this video I think I've gained a new appreciation for how functionally improved they are.

Im very much going to miss the xenon Genesis, but I have to admit, these are a HUGE step up to the old xenon genesis alarms in several ways

My personal opinion, I’ve never really liked LED strobes too much, but I do like how advanced these devices are. Truly a smart device. I personally think the ceiling mount device looks like a UFO lmao. Anyways, great review!

I gotta say these are definitely solid. still blows my mind that they can fit on a single gang backbox. They are slick lookin! Glad you're enjoyin' all the devices! Honestly, these blow the L Series out of the water.

personally i think wheelock makes the best speaker strobes, but this can still beat it in some ways

Super awesome overview of these alarms! I’ve been curious about them for some time, and it’s nice seeing the lineup in detail. EST is definitely one of the best notification device manufacturers.

Quite sleek looking devices. that is awesome that they will mount on very low volume boxes Single gang device box is crazy. Definitely good looking devices. The one thing I don't like is is clips you have to poke screwdrivers in. Those seem to break and in Canada having to remove every single device in order to short to the box to create a ground fault doing a verification I appreciate devices that it's one simple screw. Having to takeoff a front cover and then the device itself also has to be removed. It's just an extra step where I can see things getting broken or lost on a busy site just adds more complexity. Other than that, these look very good, Nice video as well.

The clips are definitely interesting. I don’t like the clips that are just plastic snaps (like the legacy SpectrAlert units) but these seem a little more robust with a metal spring as a clip. Not sure how I feel about them since I haven’t installed these, but they appear like they’d last.

@@FireAlarmDude5967 hopefully they will last. Things are definitely always a different experience once it's actually flush on a wall. I just know who is often installing these, often times on a job when time is a factor. things get broken when people don't want to figure out how to properly open devices and will start ripping on things. that's why I prefer a visible screw where it's obvious how it opens and reduces the chances of improper opening causing damage.

I really like the Genesis LED better than the Genesis Xenon. Not just the speaker strobes, but also the horn strobes. They just have a much better design compared to the xenon series.

@@roblox_kidyt5039 yeah, it's on an EST4 system. We also have integrity weatherproof speaker strobes in our courtyard and our pool area. It's great, a lot better than the EST3 system at the other high school with Spectralerts, Those things are loud especially in the pool area.

Definitely a struggle for fire alarm collectors, but I suppose it doesn’t affect installation since you just order universal brackets for installation

Very cool! I like the LED EST Devices. I like them a lot more than the xenon Genesis. I wonder if Simplex will make an LED TrueAlert or if Gentex will make LED devices.

My question is why the heck did simplex not do crap? They could have easily made their 4903 line reintroduced with better audio quality for all the speakers and you know horns you know LED looking appliances and then have so much better for simplex and have a better reputation for them.

IKR! Simplex should definitely consider doing that for a lot of devices because some of the designs are getting outdated and looks like they could use a refresh for some alarms.

I agree, simplex should make a conventional notification appliance that has LED technology. All the other brands except Gentex have a nice conventional LED device, so simplex should design something

Another thing about that company Johnson controls they are literally the worst company I've ever seen when it comes to proprietary nonsense, and not being able to serve the community properly.. they really need to start doing community input so that way people can buy from them again

These look like the large horn strobes by edwards they made horn strobes with the ceiling ones.

Although I dont like them that much, i will admit, they look futuristic. I just find the LED is a bit too bulbous. Other than that, i like the design of the grille and the body.

I suppose the LED could be perceived as large, but it’s smaller than all the other xenon strobes on the market.

In your opinion, what do you think about the sound quality. I noticed it lacks lots of lower frequencies and sticks to the higher ranges of sound frequencies. I especially noticed this on a test someone did in a building with an EST4 unit. It still sounds pretty clear though which is nice considering how small the speakers are inside the units. All in all it’s a pretty nice addition to the already great genesis series.

Sounds pretty average. It complies with the regulations for alarm signaling intelligibility so I’d say it’s a good speaker

@@FireAlarmDude5967 I think the simplex Truealert es speaker sounds the best. It effectively projects all levels of sound frequencies and sounds the clearest which does make a difference in helping ensure legible notification. It’s not muffled or too high pitched to understand.

That's what happened at a library I went to. They had Simplex bells that were recently replaced with these, but likely the horn strobe models. That was my first time seeing one in the field.
