@@dennisyoung4631 Making it into a half baked expanding bullet would be useless due to the extreme inaccuracy of the bullet. I make bullets. I don't mean that I reload expended cartridge cases with powder and bullets. I make the projectiles. I have experimented with deformation of bullets just to see what they would do when fired. Carving a groove around the jacket of a projectile as shown in the movie would cut completely through the jacket. With the high rate of spin of the projectile, as it exits the muzzle, would cause the bullet to explode from centrifugal force! A shooter would be lucky to have a range of 50 feet (more likely 5-10 feet) and not the 1000 meters away. Even with the estimated height of 70 meters of the target, based on the binocular ranging, the target would not be hit by the bullet. I was a competition target shooter years ago. I shot targets from 100 yards out to 1000 yards (85.58 meters short of 1000 meters), with a customized rifle and very accurate target ammunition. The rifle had a competition rear peep sight, allowing better aiming than a notch sight. At 100 yards, 10 rounds made 1 ragged hole 2 cm in size. At 1000 yards that same 10 shot group would be 20 centimeters, slightly bigger group at 1000 meters. There is no way that that screwy bullet could be shot out of a standard issue Mosin-Nagant rifle using a notch sight and allow a person to aim at the center of a megaphone to hit the yelling man in the mouth!

@@RetiredRadioChaser agreed. I recall reading Mann’s book “the bullet’s flight from powder to target” many years ago. You need a concentric bullet, one that’s not out of round, to fly straight, much as you’ve mentioned. Sounds like you were in deeper than I was when it comes to shooting. Never had the chance (money, mostly) to get into staging bullets. I cast a fair number, and made a few molds from scratch, had the reloading stuff, shot at a few matches, etc.

@@dennisyoung4631 I can swage, .308, .223, .45, .38, 9mm, and more recently, .217 for air rifle. Just for fun, to see what the bullet would do, I would damage bullets in some manner, filing the tips at odd angles, cut slits in them up the side to the nose, cut through the jacket around the outside, no spiral cuts like in the movie though. It really wrecked the accuracy of the bullets. Even at 50 yards I had bullets hitting 2 or 3 feet from point of aim. I had bullets that exploded from the centrifugal force from some things I did to them. I stopped that. I thought it was dangerous to have bullet fragments acting like shrapnel just a few feet in front of the muzzle.

the series is abt a master sniper, so they have to paint a good narrative of a king sniper and another bunch of chinese in japanese cosplay acting and making stupid decisions. All other chinese series basically has the same thread. all chinese are depict as heroes and smartass, and the Japanese as deceptive and stupid at the same time.

It's common for movie characters to just speak modern languages in films. Obviously, the 300 Spartans didn't speak English, but ya know. Though it would be nice to see that...

Huh? They spoke primarily Cantonese if originating from Guangdong Province, and most certainly also spoke Mandarin. Which language they spoke at the time had absolutely nothing to do with whether they were nationalist or communist. It had to do with the province they originated from. Still very much the same today. Unless you are of course referring to a specific unit depicted in this movie.
