Customizing the functions of any Stream Deck is super easy- here's a video that shows how to do it and how I use mine to help me edit faster in Final Cut Pro: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5ydhdeKxs6aeJ8.html (And yes, you can do it with the pedal, which means you can edit with your feet 😬)

It’s great to see this type of workflow come to streaming. I’ve been using a foot pedal to change pages in digital sheet music on my iPad since 2007. Anything to allow your workflow be hands free or give you more options when your hands are otherwise engaged is so awesome! Was hoping the build was durable and you’ve confirmed that. Thanks again Tom!

Rim shots! Dog paws! Foot activated controls! This videos has it alllllll! I could see using this for scene/camera changes during my talking head videos recorded via Ecamm Live. I love that I can record the camera/scene changes directly in Ecamm to save time in edit, but the phantom hand reach and eye attention change to stream deck would be solved by this. The puns had me rolling. 🤣 Also, I appreciated the drums cameo. I’m the kind of person that meticulously maps out my Razer Tartarus for every game I play then realize I ram out of keys for push to talk voice chat. This is made even worse by games like he’ll let loose that has three channels if you’re the squad leader. So this pedal looks like it would completely solve that for me.

Thanks fpr the video - awsome, as always, and I couldn't agree more: The pedals are a great addition to a stream deck. What I am waiting for, though, is an integration into the Bitfocus Companion which I use instead of the Elgato Stream Deck software as it enables me to control my atem mini pro extreme. The Companion devs are - as far as I could find out - still integrating the pedal support.

Thanks for the review and for sharing your thoughts. I had made something like this with an Arduino Leonardo and four pedals for a Sewing machine. I really don't like to switch my focus to the streamdeck during a stream/Teams meeting.

So far I just bought 3 Stream Decks like in the past week. SD 16, SD XL & SD Pedal. The 16 one will be used for my Stream PC. The XL is for my Gaming PC. & I'll use the SD Pedals for both my Gamer PC and Stream PC. So when I'm playing PC games, I'll have it attached to that Gamer PC and at least one button will be used for Push To Talk. Then when I'm playing console games, it'll be attached to my Stream PC, and again I'll use one of them for PTT. Maybe I'll set the right one to be PTT, the left one to Open MIC, and maybe use the canter one for voice mod. I'm just getting started in to streaming since I play basically all the time when I'm at home, I might as well stream my game plays.

This would be odd but could you use this as a way to edit? Like for example, if you wanted your pedals to be Select Tool, Delete, Blade or Ctrl, Shift, Alt or maybe even three keys on the right side of the keyboard so you never have to use your right hand on the keyboard? Interesting pedal. I've heard of people using it as a mic in video games but I def feel like I would need to experience it and see what I like the foot pedal for... Def 1 of those dont knock it till you try it type of things imo. Lastly, are you still enjoying the pedal 2months later? Thanks for the video.

I don't think so- your computer essentially sees it as a 3 button keyboard.

For those who kinda sensitive on the palm of your foot, streamdeck foot pedal is very good productivity product. But sadly the comfort is ruined by the cut-out logo in the middle pedal. It’s very uncomfortable after a while resting my bare foot on it. The logo cause the palm of my bare foot to be itchy and sweat more which amplified the discomfort even more. Sadly, the logo ruined it all. Besides that, if you wear shoes, it doesn’t matter at all. But I don’t want to wear shoes inside the house.
@tombuck
@tombuck 2 жыл бұрын
I wonder if there’s tape or padding that you could cover the logo with to help make it more comfortable?

It’s just quite expensive for a plastic three button device. People say the software is worth it, but since I own a Stream Deck XL, I’ve paid for the software once already.

It's definitely not the cheapest thing out there, but it works good and is quite hefty/durable (a very good thing for something that gets stepped on constantly).

That would be great for my livestreaming/audio recording future... If even this thing needs a software... It's okay, I can bare it... But the all I have is a soundcard and my Fujitsu Laptop and a Second Montior running on a Windows 10. But the question is... Will it actually support on Windows 10? Or is it only on MacOS? Now that Elgato has decided to feature feat in this way, the game, as they say, is afoot and we should expect other manufacturers to 'toe' the line. I guess sales will determine if this was a step in the right direction or if it's destined to be a footnote. I wonder...if you press down on this pedal to trigger an audio effect would it be considered a 'FEAT' compressor?
