Toot a while to get mine but I actually felt I had a chance. Rolex customer service is at an all time low given the AD gatekeepers taking advantage of the situation.

It’s really great watch. Definitely getting lots of wrist time. I too dropped the credit card down for it.

That’s awesome I had a similar story I went in to buy an Aqua Terra and the green Seamaster just happened to be there too. They lost the certificate for the Terra so I have to go back for it another day but because of that they gave me a discount on both watches. Picking up the Terra on my birthday so it couldn’t have happened any better!

You can certainly make the argument that the Omega is the superior watch. Many have done it and many will continue doing it in the future. Personally, I have to agree that the date submariner is not worth another 95% more than the seamaster. It’s purely brand prestige.

@@TheTimekeeper “it’s a better watch”. It’s not. Rookies and sour grapes all make the same mistakes early on in buying watches. It’s all just part of the Rolex curve. It’s easy to hate on a big brand but later on most figure out Rolex watches are generally better made, just look at the bracelets. The omega coaxial mech doesn’t do anything substantial to the buyer because the service interval is the exact same as a Rolex or longines without the mechanism and METAS is just another qualification like anything else.

@@whereRbearsTeeth Just to let you all know, I have three Rolex’s the two tone yacht Master, Seadweller 44 mm, and the Air king. I have three Omegas the broad arrow sword GMT , speedmaster, and a chrono. Yes I have many watches as well and no I’m not a flipper. That being said, I prefer to wear the omega because it just feels better around my 8 in wrist. I am a tall man 6’3” and people always ask me if I was a football player. I am hard on my watches and I noticed I scuff up easier onto the Rolex’s not to say they are a poor quality because they are not but the omegas seem to scratch less. Yes you all may say about the different metals point is I wear my watches to work, gym, beach, hike, etc. I started collecting watches since I was 18 back in 1991. I have been blessed to wear these watches and other brands from GP, Brietlings Super ocean Heritage, Seikos, Tudors, etc. I believe it is important to broaden my horizon in watches. I do not comment on watches in which I have not experience of wearing extensively. It’s all about how it feels around once’s wrist that matter. Now about your comment about Rolex vs Omega well that is a debate in which has been a soar subject between people and I love it, though in my opinion Rolex has placed in so much in advertisement that they lost the quality they give to their customers (not the watches themselves) but they are so boring to me, they lack the wow appeal to me. Yeah sure its nice to wear the Rolex but I see it as a Flex status. Point is I look at my watch more when I wear my omegas. Though once again that my own taste.

I used to have this attitude but the lack of taper is a stylistic choice rather than a dated failure to taper. I don’t have the watch, but the look has grown on me. Now I can’t picture it any other way

I like the Rodney Dangerfield reference! This watch is like a chameleon. It can be black, grey, and like 3 different shades of green depending on the light.

They initially told me 6-8 weeks but then it took almost 5 months.

The green looks different in different lighting. Sometimes it's grey, black and different green tones. It's not a bright vibrant green though, more of a military green

I really like the white dial one as well. It’s tough one. I considered getting a while dial one myself but ultimately went for the green. I knew it would take a while so I was ok with waiting. If you decide to get the green one, be prepared to wait. I had to prepay for mine in full to special order it and it took about 5 months.

I have both green and white on rubber. If I wasn't a fan of green (everything), I would get the white. The white stands out and is very consistent in all lighting. The green is really only "green" in full light to the watch face. Don't sell the white for green.

I like the bracelet personally. I thought about buying the rubber strap but was quoted over $300 for it. Seemed to be a lot for a rubber strap although I’ve heard it’s really good.

Almost bought the blue one several times but I held out for the green.

I would find an authorized dealer and I believe authorized dealers can’t charge more than mrsp for new watches. Grey market dealers can though.

It comes on a green rubber strap as well.

I hope to get my own daughter a nice watch too. My wife isn’t much of a watch person. She likes them but doesn’t like me to splurge. She’s the more sensible one. I just talked to a watchmaker recently about Rolex vs Omega purely from a movement quality perspective and he said Omega was was way better and that Rolex quality has declined. He also said that he thought Zenith made the best movements. He’s been a watchmaker for 46 years so I trust his opinion.

Can’t beat that endorsement. If it’s good enough for the military, it can pretty much handle anything.
