I always found it pretty suspicious that the one guy who knew more about chaos than any other human alive decided to fight chaos with a massive galaxy spanning slaughter.

I mean the empire is the greatest warring force that can actually fuel Chaos, the greatest source of disease, gluttony and excess, and the greatest source of deceit. Its the culmination of all of the chaos gods in perfect unison. It is truly, chaos undivided.

Not sure if you'll see this, but I have grown to recognize your voice as THE narrator of 40k. A real life Malcador the Hero perhaps. Rest, and stay well. Emperor grant you healing.

If this were the case, this would make Vulkan his greatest failure and also the greatest threat to him. For his kindness burns bright as the forges he works. The greatest works forged by vulkan were not his armor or weapons, but the bonds of Friendship. He would stand for everything that threatens this version of the Emperor.

My thought has always been that he never tricked them, he invited them to the one thing they could never turn down, he offered a game. 20 pieces to play, and half would be promised to them but which half they would have to fight for. He knew he needed the powers of chaos to defeat them but he also knew he had to offer something that turned a perfect plan into a gamble, a game.

One of the points you brought up in the Emperor's return to Molech was his will to gain the favor of Slannesh... Soon after that visit, he grew markedly more concerned with the speed of the Great Crusade. As soon as he was able, he left the Crusade to carry out the Webway Project to "help Humanity". What if he was just sealing his deal with Slannesh and getting her access to the Eldar and Dark Eldar? 🤔

Everchosen is a weird concept when you try to wrap your head around how the power is granted and whether or not it can be taken away once given. I assume the idea is the same in both 40k and AoS because almost everything to do with Chaos is the same between the two. In 40k, we think that chaos gods just abandoned Horus because they feared that The Emperor's psychic blast would somehow destroy them as well as Horus. So it seems like in 40k, the chaos gods can just take the powers back. Meanwhile in Age of Sigmar the Chaos Gods actually tried to kill Archaon because he was reborn as a mortal who was stronger than basically most of the gods in the setting. Scared of his power they sent their champions after him, but he just destroyed the greater daemons sent his way and had his mount absorb their powers. Archaon took that as just a test and kept calling himself the Everchosen and champion of ruinous powers after beating the ever loving shit out of everyone who challenged him, so they basically had to let him be their champion. So clearly, in the case of Archaon, the chaos gods can't take away what they already gave him back when he destroyed the Old World. Does this mean that Horus was never a true Everchosen, or did the Emperor's psychic spell actually drive the chaos out of his soul as he destroyed it, rather than the chaos gods taking the power away willfully? So if Emperor was or is an Everchosen, it would mean that the Chaos Gods can't take his powers away because he at least seems to be their enemy nowadays, The Anathema that all Daemons fear.

I honestly kind of figured this was the case, why else would horus retrace his steps to moloch? I always assumed lupercal was re enacting his fathers journey, thinking he was going to complete it.

Ah, yes. The old deal with the dark powers. My pet theory, which I'm sure'll be disproved soon enough, involves the theft of that knowledge. The deal that the Emperor broke. My thoughts revolve around a couple of questions: what kind of deal did he strike? What kind of theft was it -- in fact, how does one steal from the gods? For question 1, I think it's a classic bargain with demons. And those bargains usually involve one of two trades -- either one's soul (as per the daemon primarchs) -- or one's firstborn. As for question 2, the classic theft from the gods was perpetrated by Prometheus. Taking fire, giving it to mortals. But given how the ruinous powers *want* their stuff in the mortal domain, the better to corrupt the mortals. I think it's more a case of traditional theft -- simply not furnishing the requested payment for their service. "But he did give them his son!" one might say. "Horus was the Warmaster, first in the Emperor's favour. And he fell to Chaos." And sure, he could be described as first. He's pretty primary by that measure. But his legion isn't the first, is it? And is he the first Primarch? Is he really? There *is* a first Primarch, and he seems to be pretty firmly loyal, even after his long nap on the Rock. I suggest that the price the gods wanted to exact was the Lion. (Well, they probably wanted all twenty, you know how Chaos is.) But the Emperor reneged and fobbed them off with Horus. Interestingly enough, the most famous lord of Chaos from Michael Moorcock's fiction was Arioch. Translated as 'a fierce lion.' But that's surely just a coincidence. Or a bit of synchronicity. Hope the back gets better soon!

My personal head Canon is that the emperor was formed by the psykers sacrifice to protect and insure the future of humanity, and when he went into the warp it wasn't for anything of the chaos gods but for a lost corpse or shard of o e of the old ones that gave him the dynamic power boost, maybe he was learning where to look, so to speak with regards to the warp, or gaining enough power so he could claim it over the 30k years or so it took him to get there. I mean if Ganges Kahn could ascend to be a demon prince I doubt it would've taken the emperor that much time and effort to do so himself. Plus I also like the idea I heard of him using his time in the warp to capture lesser warp gods and use them as seeds for his primarchs. Is cool idea.

Isnt it suspicious that the Men of Iron all started going insane around the same time the Emperor received the secrets to creating the primarchs from the Chaos Gods? Kinda the Emperors modus operandi to break his toys the second he gets a new one ie. The Thunder Warriors.

This is a similar theory to what I had. Due to what the term "anathema" actually means, and the fact that the emperor of man made chaos "promises only a god in waiting coul" I always interpreted the emperor was on chaos' side at some point, that he promised to be the chaos gods' avatar in exchange for the knowledge of how to manipulate the warp in the same way they do. Then betrayed them at some point. I also always thought this was part of the reason so many of his colleagues turned on him they realized what he was doing.

Hey bro, really enjoy your content, sorry to hear you're suffering from back pain, but fortunately that's something that's WAY more fixable than a lot of people think. Proper exercise can not only relieve the pain, but also strengthen the area dramatically and make it way more resistant to injury in the future. The basic procedure is, 1. Move, get blood flow in the area, basic walking as soon as you're able is very helpful. 2. Strengthen assisting muscles, such as the hamstrings, glutes and abs, (walking lunges, hip thrusts, step ups and planks are great here) and 3. Directly strengthen the low back in a way that causes little or no pain. High rep 45 degree back extensions through whatever range is comfortable is one of the best options here. Great story. I do find it funny how many think his real name is the one that someone knew him by. Even though the Emperor has gone by many names including St. George the Dragon slayer, he is rumored to be Alexander the Great and many others. His true name is known only to him. Edit: I think the Emperor is the chosen of the Old Ones and when the shamans sacrificed themselves the last power of the Old One was poured into the Emperor as a bulwark against the Necrons, and the future that Chaos had.

32:49- No, because from what Eldrad said to Robot Girlyman: once you get to the power level of the 4 chaos gods, your power becomes self sustaining. So, Khorne, Tzeench, Nurgle, and Slaanesh would be fine if that happened, but the infinite number of more minor gods would either have to join them, or die. That could honestly be a backup plan they have to clear out the pests, but I think they would rather let the mortals live so they can eat their souls like candy.

The way forward is only walked through pain and sacrifice. Strength is not a measure of how much pain you can inflict but how much you can bear and keep moving forward. Here is an interesting theory: what if the Emperor did indeed agree to bargain with the chaos Gods, perhaps exchanging great power for some sort of sacrifice (maybe even allowing the Horus Hersey to occur, thus giving the Gods of Chaos a chance to conqueror humanity for good). Essentially the bargain would go something like this: we shall bestow upon you great power and knowledge (perhaps allowing the Emperor to construct his webway project), but in exchange, the emperor must allow certain events to occur so that a civil war breaks out for the Imperium. The emperor agrees, believing that he will have the power to win the civil war. However, when the Horus Heresy occurs, the Emperor realizes how dire the situation has become, and is forced to alter many of his plans in order to salvage the situation. In fact, it's entirely possible that when Horus and the Emperor faced off against each other, both of them were empowered by Chaos, but only the Emperor had the skill and talent needed to avoid becoming their slave. However, in order to stop Horus, the Emperor realized that it would end up costing an immense portion of his own power to do so. If this is true, then the Emperor did not hesitate out of concern for his son Horus, but rather because he knew that by stopping Horus, he would also be stripped of his power as well. It was only after the Emperor understood that killing Horus was the best move possible for the sake of humanity's future did he finally relent and sacrifice his power, condemning himself to a miserable fate upon the Golden Throne, but still hoping that in time he might rise in power again to challenge the Chaos Gods and defend humanity from the terrors of the galaxy. There's also another incredible theory that Sanguinius (and not Horus) was the one who wounded the Emperor, and that Horus was already defeated (or possibly dead) by the time the Emperor arrived to confront him. Essentially, what might have happened was that the chaos Gods were always intent on making Sanguinius their champion, and not Horus. Therefore, when the Angel confronted the Warmaster, the chaos Gods basically 'forced' their blessings upon Sanguinius, twisting his soul with dark power in the hopes of making him their servant. Yet rather than succumbing to their influence, Sanguinius was defiant and ended up going mad from the strain of resisting their influence (and this is the reason the Black Rage exists, not because Horus killed Sanguinius, but because the Chaos Gods were trying to 'rape his soul' with power...and rather than allowing that to happen, Sanguinius resisted until their power tore his mind apart). This again could explain why the Emperor hesitated and allowed himself to be injured: not because he was fighting Horus (a traitor) but because was fighting his loyal son Sanguinius who had gone mad from fighting against the ruinous powers corrupting his soul. I can already picture Sanguinius weeping in despair as he attacks his father against his will, his mind already shattered as he continues to bellow oaths of loyalty for the Imperium while being forced to kill his father. From there, after the Emperor finally realizes that there is no way to save his son, the Master of Mankind reluctantly uses his power to shatter Sanginuius' soul (killing him instantly), and upon seeing his lifeless corpse fall to the ground, the wounded Emperor would turn to Horus (who had been watching the entire scene play out with tear-stained eyes, clearly ashamed of all he had done). The Emperor's would gaze at him with an anguished look of anger before speaking into his mind in a deep commanding voice.... "You are the one who did this. Because of your foolishness, the galaxy burns and humanity is shattered. And while I am certain that you regret many of your choices, the punishment for your actions has already been decided. You have placed all of humanity on a dark and terrible future, and for that I cannot offer you a single shred of mercy....save this: know that before you die...before I erase your very existence....I will never stop fighting to undo the damage you have done. I will make any sacrifice....endure any pain....and struggle with all my might....until humanity can at long last walk in a brighter future." Then, with one last surge of power, the Emperor utterly destroys Horus' very soul.

It blows my mind that GW doesn't have you on staff. If not for lore videos to get people hyped about upcoming releases, they should have you write some of the short lore sections in the codexes. Your vocabulary, use of language and passion would make your sections stand out as some of the best.

i lean more to this, i just believe that his end goal was to be a god all along. it fits his character type and ego. he dressed himself as a god his entire showing to others never as a mere mortal. regardless of what he said his actions spoke louder.

It makes perfect cents he imbodies both the best and worst aspect of all 4 choas gods his people humans are the main servents of choas and the missory of the empire there perfect breeding ground and has seen in belicore the ever chosen does not have to survive the choas gods derectly or even be on there side. And really I think this theory works better with the original lore of him being the collective of all human psychers

This isn't even a recent thing in the lore, the old book "Daemon World" featured a chaplain of the Word Bearers who was once a champion of Chaos during the Dark Age of Technology, and had mentioned that The Emperor wasn't just a champion of chaos, but their greatest champion, and he'd found a way to throw off the shackles of control from the Chaos gods. That in doing so he'd devised a plan to slay them all, and remove their threat from humanity.

I want to see the chaos gods become more desperate as the primarchs awaken and the emperor stirs. It would be interesting to do away with the idea of chaos undivided as that has failed them time and time again so they would lose faith in the other gods and refocus their ambitions against each other. Not to say this doesn’t already happen but just in a much bigger way. Allowing certain chaos to grow in power as they expand on each other and mortal forces wether imperium or xenos to gain an actual foothold in the warp itself, like the inverse of warp storms. Leaning into heavy retcon territory.

Based on the last books topic of Horus………well it makes sense I’ll explain below. In the last book of the Horus Hersay, Horus is trying to become the fifth chaos god but that’s the fate….of the victor = Big.E he IS now the fifth god of chaos but not really since he denies this power, he probably avoids ascension at all times currently, he has daemons he can summon: Legion of the Damned, that aspect of Ferrus that could be summon (who could also be a leader of the Legion if they made it so which would be cool), the Saint and the Primarchs, he gives blessings and even possess his sons. He just needs to except his divinity which he hates the idea of since it goes against EVERYTHING he fought for. It’d also probably destroy humanity in his birth into a god.

This has been my view on the emperor ever since my research kn the lore hit a certain point. We can see how those who have trained power through chaos, there has been a price to pay. For him to be emperor, the price was the inevitable corruption of humanity, which we can see with his "perfect children" even turning to chaos, which is the precursor and the signal that he did infact obtain his place and power through Chaos.
