My daughter died 6 years ago at 5 weeks old and instead of one day walking her up the aisle to give her away to her future husband I carried her and her tiny white coffin in my arms through a sea of heartbroken loved ones. I gave her eulogy, I told her how much her daddy loves her and how my life was utterly broken without her. Finally I carried her from the church to her grave as this song played. Just like the Chris in this film I would have readily given up my life to save my little girl but instead I laid her in her forever bed. Sleep well my angel, daddy will never stop loving you. I don't know you but I am sending all the love I have in my heart to you. I'm middle-aged, single and never had kids. Except for the miscarriage my girlfriend had at 19 weeks when I was twenty. There was a tiny coffin for him and for the first time in a long time I'm in tears about it.

What intrigues me most is how Creasy is constantly suffering throughout the whole film - physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. We see him try to kill himself but it’s clear that God doesn’t let him, and he continues to suffer after losing Pita. But I like to think that in the end, after all the suffering, tribulation, and his redemption, God refused to let him suffer anymore. Especially at the hands of the mafiosos who definitely would’ve tortured him brutally. So as he sat in the car looking out the window, God finally took him home.

Recently made the mistake of rewatching this incredible film whilst travelling on a plane. That final scene with this music where he passes away in the car came as we landed and people got up to look around and get their hand luggage - as this hit me like a ton of bricks and couldn't help but tear up. Damn, what a film and what a song. Deserved accolades. I vote for retrospective film awards that look back and reflect again on their quality. This would get my votes.

This is one of my favorite movies. I have watched it many times. I luv Denzel Washington's performance was so outstanding. The way he & Dakota Fanning's character, Pita, interacted was so real & touching. They really had a luv for each other. He had something to live for, especially when she was kidnapped. Had to seek revenge. The ending just blew me away. He gave his life for her safety. When he was walking over the bridge & she was running toward him. The luv they have for each other, so powerful. Broke my heart. When he died in the car with the medal was one of the saddest things. I cry every time at the end. The acting was superb. The music was haunting & beautiful. Luved it. Dede Ben.

This is the most moving most powerful scene I've ever come across. The tears come down and you just sob in combination with the music as Lisa Gerard's lementing pierces right through your heart as you see Pita running into the arms of her mother and as the car drives off, its as if she is singing for him to be at peace and to not be afraid to cross over. It is very rare to find music that is as uplifting you feel as though you are walking on air, as devastating as losing a loved one, and enough to take away any pain and weight off of your shoulders. I'm speechless and cannot turn my head away.

Translation A word does not say anything And at the same time it hides everything Just as the wind that hides the water Like the flowers that mud hides. A glance does not say anything And at the same time it says everything Like rain on your face Or an old treasure map A truth does not say anything And at the same time it hides everything Like a bonfire that does not go out Like a stone that is born dust. If one day you need me, I will be nothing And at the same time I will be everything Because in your eyes are my wings And the shore where I drown, Because in your eyes are my wings And the shore where I drown

It's definitely a beautiful but heartbreaking scene. Definitely not just joy and happiness in this scene. It is very sad, because even though Pita and Creasy are reunited, and she is now safe. You know they will never see each other again, because he has sacrificed himself to save her. He's already dying while on the bridge with her. He knows his end is drawing near. It really is hard to watch the bridge scene without shedding some tears. That music is perfect for the scene as well

Please stay away from that old storybook! Seriously! If you want to really read it then go and do some honest research of how it came to be a book, who put it together and why. Read about the many many problems with that old book. You can start your research watching any Bart Ehrman video or debate. He tells it like it is and he was a minister in the past. Now he teaches at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has never lost a debate ever! Preachers are scared of him! LOL.....Think about this deeply, you or I can be inspired to write something important. We then proceed to write this message down. We show it to other Ones. They write it down and pass it around. Copies and copies are made. Someone from another country is visiting here and wants a copy. They copy the message and then translate it for their friends and family in their country. Then those people begin to copy it and pass it around. Do you think the story has changed any by now? Do you think I can take your message or writing that was inspired and then I change it? Of course I can change it if I wish. This is what happened with the bible. the people in power at that time placed their wishes, rules, laws and desires in that book. That book tells us to kill our children if they curse at us. Do you think God said that or maybe one of the people who was putting that book together? Roman rulers, politicians and tax collectors were involved with that book. They created that book because people were going off in all sorts of directions with regards to religion and beliefs. The Romans wanted all people under the Roman roof you see. Do you realize that when you read the bible you can only form an opinion about it and it's contents? Nobody knows what any of it means, really. Every church has their own opinions about it. What if your opinions are wrong? What if you did not understand it correctly? God and Jesus know all about that book and all the confusion because of it. They did not go silent. Why would they? They never turned their backs on human society and human beings. Why would they? We have new messages from them. They have sent messenger after messenger here. Many were ignored and many are ignored now. Still they keep coming. Please think deeply about this before you spend so much time reading and trying to understand that old book.

Bart Ehrman is an apostate, a liberal 'scholar' whose interpretation of scripture is arbitrary and subjective. Truth is not determined by consensus. He's one screwed up dude who has led many astray. Been refuted.
@JQUICK21
@JQUICK21 8 жыл бұрын
***** He's a liberal scholar eh? He does not interpret scripture. By the way, I guess your local preacher down the street in your home town interprets scripture correctly right? Answer me please. I mean, admit it. I know your answer but just want to hear you say it. LMAO....you bible worshippers are hilarious. Also, please tell me where is God? Can't wait to hear this one! Truth is determined by facts dumbass, who said anything about consensus? He simple shares the facts, simple! Show me where he is wrong? Is he wrong about printing presses coming along in the 1700's? Is he wrong that stories were told by word of mouth for many decades at least, about Jesus and his life and teachings? That those stories at some point were written down? Then copied, then copied and then copied some more for many years and by many, many people? Then a copy and we don't know if it was an original was translated into another language. Only a liberal would find such facts? Is that what you are saying? These are facts dumb dumb! Jesus used an Aramaic word from his own language when he spoke of God. And when you translate that word from Aramaic into Latin, Greek and then English we come up with one of our words which is "father". So we have millions of dummies like you thinking God is a man or male and a Father. Did you know Jesus told stories to dummies like you so that they can understand spiritual facts and truths? Your preacher never told you that? So you think the Adam and Eve story is just like you been told, that there was a man and a woman and a snake? Is that right? And a forbidden fruit, an apple right? LMAO....you idiot that was a story. Bart Ehrman makes every Minister, Preacher and Pastor as well as all bible scholars look like idiots. We have one Gospel writer telling a story about someone or something that happened and we have another Gospel writer telling the same story and they don't match up! They are different! Does this mean that God screwed up, since that old book is God's Word? LMAO.... It is a fact that there are problems with that old book, lots of them. Are those God's words in that book or the words of those men who put that book together, edited it, added to it, flavored it with their own sauce? If your children curse at us we must Kill them. Yep, that is what your Holy book says. Do you know anyone who has murdered their kids yet? Why not? We are told to by none other than God. God's words right? Or did some jackass who had his hands in the preparation of that old book want this to be a rule or law, to murder children? You know what, it is no surprise a bible worshipper would try to slam Bart Erhman. Preachers and Priests don't have a clue about how that old book came about and who was behind it. They only study and learn the words in the book. And since they don't know what the hell most of it is saying, they simply say " we are not to know such things" or " God works in mysterious ways". I love giving you the facts, so don't thank me, it is my pleasure!

Creasy was her father figure in this story. Her failure of a real father gave way to him to be that for her. Having them reunite in the end was truly special. We saw the Equalizer because of D. Washington. It is good entertainment, but nothing as great as the story and acting in Man on Fire. I do think the Equalizer set itself up for a sequel about his character in that movie. There is no character or acting (in Equalizer) to compare to Dakota Fanning in Man on Fire. Her face as he is getting shot trying to save her is amazing.
