Gutted for you loosing your teepee and we have had a right battering from the weather the past few weeks. I'm in a village close to Scarborough, and I am going to use a part of our chicken farm to grow flowers. I'm a florist by Trade, I currently lost my job 2 weeks ago, so this season, I'm going self-employed in 2024. Your videos have spured me on to take the leap. Losing my job is a message to do what I wanted to for about 3 years to grow my own flowers for my work . I'm so glad I found your videos with you been Also, Reighton Nursery's are my favourite place to buy from . Thankyou Sarah for sharing all your information. Kindest regards Carole

In 2024 I hope to continue my no-dig allotment journey with making wonderful compost, feeding the soil, growing lots more flowers for bees and pollinators, saving my own seeds and putting in a shift of 2 hours every day, my new moto is: do a little and do it often, slow and steady gets the job done, best wishes, Lisa

If there is one thing I have learnt in the past few years, as a small business owner you have to be willing to adapt to change or some unforeseen circumstances. Whilst it is good to have a plan, much like a garden, things can change in an instant and if you are flexible enough your business might find a new niche, or a new way of working. Embrace change and go with it😊

Have you considered a geodesic dome? Arctic acres has some lovely kits and I know I’ve seen several diy KZfaq’s on them as well. They work well under snow loads here in Canada so I’m sure they would work well to shed the wind. I’m looking forward to starting seeds soon, it’s what gets me through our cold winters.

haha oh man the pigeon problem is so relatable. i couldn't believe how efficiently they picked up every single seed i broadcasted and loosely raked in. now i have awful bare plots that the rain is just beating down on, with no roots in the ground :/

Sorry to hear about the teepee, Sarah. Maybe you can build a wood frame outbuilding for workshop space and place a roof ornament shaped like a teepee in the center of the roof, to make a new visual landmark. No goals here - I'm just a retired, home gardener who likes to watch abundant flower farm videos!

Sorry to hear about how the storms have affected your business. I’m guessing you might be replacing the teepee with a more sound outer structure and a teepee style drape inside, a bit like you see at wedding venues. Looking forward to the big reveal and your online courses. I hope you include a course on managing a small Wormery as I have one and I’m not sure on the next step of harvesting the lovely worm casts. Take care and stay positive. 😊🌈🌱

I grow flowers to enjoy and share with friends. Being outside is therapeutic for me, mentally and physically. My garden goals are twofold, better timing and planning of planting schedule and better documentation. I have a blank notebook ready for 2024 so I think taking notes and more garden photos will help.

Sarah, Always love to see a new video pop up! Have you ever checked out Blossom and Branch Farm on KZfaq? She is passionate about soil health just like you and the two of you have so much in common! Just thought I would suggest it as connecting and learning from each other is what it’s all about! Also, I’m so sorry about your teepee but I can relate to the stress of having something you love, and yet it is stressing you out! I hope your new plan will be more sustainable and that in time, you’ll view the loss of the teepee as blessing that took you to the next, better thing! Congratulations on reaching 30K subscribers! I’ve been a fan, here in the US, for awhile!

It's so upsetting to lose the teepee in the winter storms, I'm so sorry you've had that right at the start of the year whilst you plan your income streams. I'm sure you'll decide on a good replacement, and hope that you can still run some summer workshops, I'm sure you'll be up and running by Christmas for your main workshop season though. The birds ate all my vetch seeds that I broadcast in autumn so my allotment beds are bare, I'm going to try mustard now, just to put something in until I'm ready to sow the first annuals. My space is much smaller than yours, but even so it's too big to physically cover the seeds to protect the seeds whilst they germinate! Opportunistic pigeons, storms, flooding, this winter has been challenging! Here's to the year ahead though, and I look forward to following along and seeing how you rebuild and grow this coming season.

Keep up your good spirit, Sarah! My goal for the garden in Sweden Summer 2024, is to make a realistic plan for sowing seeds inside, and also do some winter sowing, but most important: to follow the plan! Maybe you can use the floor from the teepe and move it inside the big hoop house? Then you can grow some crops inside the big hoop house as well, on the sides. Put the floor onto some woven ground material. Use the poles from the teepe, to grow melons, squash, tomatoes upon, at the sides of the floor.

Hi Sarah from California USA...thanks so much for for your wonderful content! I will be signing up for your foundation course as this will be my first year planting a cut garden for myself. You are such an inspirational teacher, and although I have already learned so much from your videos, I would just like to say that what I have taken to heart is that sometimes things don't go to plan, and you have to roll with the punches...which you do with grace. This year is experimental for me to figure out what will thrive in my yard, and a wish you a prolific season!

Hi Sarah, Well now that’s a kick in the proverbial butt! What a shame. Sticking with proverbial, closed door/open window. I agree that it’s your energy that will make any new space as warm and welcoming as the teepee. As to the new space, have thought about a used shipping container? I might think about red clover as a fast growing, nitrogen rich option. Re my goals; after 25 yrs as “Your Gardening Angel” I’m planning a new venture as the “Petal Pedaler”. I’ll be using my urban garden (about a 1/4 acre) to grow an assortment of cut flowers and veg in containers to sell door to door, from my brand new! electric cargo bike. I’m very much looking forward to all the new challenges that present themselves this year. It’s going to be a bit of a slog but I’m so! psyched! Thank you, for sharing your journey. I have been watching your vids as research and have been really enjoying them. All the very best to you, I know the new space is going to be amazing. Keep calm & carry on! Sabrina

So sorry about your teepee! Sometimes you have to cut your losses. Excited to see what is next. I sprayed my cover crop seed with bitter spray (like you would use to keep a dog from chewing) and I think it helped keep the quail out which is my version of your pigeons. Good luck and best wishes for 24

For the past 5 years I have been working on growing a forest garden on my half acre garden - slow work but very enjoyable. This year my goals are to grow more flowers as pollinators for the bees in the 2 hives in my garden and also to create some square foot beds for growing veggies. I will be signing up for your newsletter as I may be interested in doing your flower growing course. Always interested to hear ideas on how to improve soil health too. Happy growing and good luck with your new plans for 2024 - exciting times ahead albeit it with hard work but it will be well worth it I'm sure ❤

How about building a straw bale round house to replace the teepee? I’ve seen some that have a grassy roof… you could have a wildflower roof😁! Would have a similar vibe, just way more durable. And a lot of materials you’d be able to get from the land

So sorry to hear about the teepee. I’m sure you’ll replace it with something brilliant. I moved from a zone 6b to 9a here in Orlando, Florida. So, my goal in 2024 is to just keep all my plants alive. 😂 Love your channel and outlook. All the best. K

@bloomandgray Just my opinion of course so take it as you will. The teepee, although a great road attraction did very little for you compared to what another hoop house would. With the cost to replace you could do at least a 50 foot hoop house with ends and vents. I would recommend a 100 foot/30 meter instead though. I will be watching this next year with great anticipation. I started watching your channel strictly because I wanted to grow flowers for my wife. If I was on that side of the pond I would just buy yours at this point Sarah. You rock, as we Americans say to those that are kickin ass. Looking forward to another year of you moving forward with Rob's awesome support. Thomas

YT Channel "The Lawrence Garden Farm" has a hoop house that they use as a cozy hang out spot. They made the ends of it look like barn doors and they had christmas lights in it. Maybe those are more than tee pees. hmm. You guys could build your own large shed or a pavillion with the ability to have roll down screens on the sides or plastic for the rainy cold weather.
