Full Game: • 2012 Wild Card Seahawk...
Seattle overcame a 14-point deficit in the first quarter to earn their first playoff win on the road since 1983. Seattle has now won three straight playoff games against Washington, who were playing in their first home playoff game since 1999. Coincidentally, the Seahawks also ended another playoff futility streak against the Redskins in the 2005 season (game played in 2006) when they beat them 20-10 at home in the divisional game for their first playoff victory at all (home or road) since 1984 on their way to their as of the start of these playoffs only Super Bowl appearance. Robert Griffin III faced off against Russell Wilson for the second such instance of both teams starting with rookie quarterbacks in the playoffs, in the Super Bowl era; after T.J. Yates and Andy Dalton had previously done so for the Houston Texans and the Cincinnati Bengals respectively, in the previous year's playoffs. Wilson finished his first playoff game 15/26 for 187 yards and a touchdown, along with 67 rushing yards. Lynch rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown and caught a pass for 9 yards. For the Redskins, safety Reed Doughty had 11 tackles and 2 sacks. Morris was their top rusher with 80 yards. After the game, an MRI revealed Griffin had torn his lateral collateral ligament and would have to undergo surgery to repair it. In response, Washington coach Mike Shanahan faced criticism for not pulling Griffin from the game earlier, despite warning signs he was playing injured. This was an injury that likely dated back to Week 14 when Griffin was injured vs Baltimore.

RG3 put himself back in. He fought with Shanahan about it. Snyder gave RG3 what he wanted. He cost us this game. Had Kirk come in earlier we could have kept the momentum, but it was too late at the point he finally came in.

Kirk wouldnt have beaten them. he wouldve threw one of his picks. as for what cost us it was the injury, RG3 not accepting to quit on the day, but ALSO on Shanahan (he's the coach, he should protect his player), i put some blame on Hankerson (that drop he had hurt) and of course that trash defense they put out

Mike Shanahan singlehandedly destroyed RG3 intentionally, under very stupid pretext that RG3 wanted to play, vast majority of players wanna play despite their injuries, but it's up to the coach to make the decision, but when you have a coach that drafted a quarterback in the forth round after drafting the Heisman trophy winner is 💯 premeditated Villain plan to destroy him.

lewi yonas I don’t know about that assessment. Seattle was always one qb away from being great. Their defense was coming along, and they were still in a lot of ballgames. RG3 had the potential of being great. They used him his rookie year way to dangerous and reckless and not only did it not work, it ruined the man's career. He shouldn't have ever played this game😒

I understand that RG3 was electric that season until injured… but he got injured, so why did he win rookie of the year over both andrew luck and russell wilson?

I know everyone says Shanahan gets the blame for playing RG3 but he should’ve been smart enough to say my legs messed up I can’t go out there. Yes the coaches shouldn’t of let him but It’s not 100% on shanahan

I am a huge giants fan and I always root against the other nfc east teams, but I really feel bad for RG3 and the redskins fanbase. This was their franchise QB. Other than the redskins’ mediocre defense in 2012, they could have made a deep run
