What is refreshing to see is these kids and they look 10yrs old! They are motivated with no power tools, no bench to work on, no sturdy shoes. Just your brain and willing to learn and make do. I would be so proud of these kids, what invaluable knowledge they are taking in. A kid learning to use his hands will not fail in life.

I watched this carefully, as a 30 year mechanic, gas/diesel/2 cycle/4 cycle, air or liquid cooled, bike/boat/car/truck/tractor I have worked on everything! NEVER have I seen engine tear-down and build, not using a manual, bolt loosening/tightenimng sequence ((head, crank)) or without the use of a decent accurate torque wrench. ESPECIALLY an industrial diesel engine, I give that engine a week before it blows apart, simply amazing!

In the early '60's I was about the same age as these boys, working in my father's rural garage, and my job was to disassemble engines and clean all the parts. Then I watched as my father rebuilt those engines.

These are called the real mechanics who done their job with minimum resources and very basic tools didn't even had proper light at the end I salutes you guys. May God bless you.

Absolutely amazing! What fascinates me is how they can remember where everything goes back - it seems no One is co-ordinating the strip-down and each person takes off whatever they can so that it seems impossible to have a recollection [no workshop manuals here] of where each part goes. Tea break is on the job, no down tools and off to the smoko room. Impact wrench - club hammer to the end of a ring spanner! With the resources they have, they do an amazing job - take my hat off to them. Oh, and forget about school - these boys are learning something much more valuable then government curriculum!

How could you not appreciate the effort these guys put in, amazing! Looks like a real family team. Those boys are learning some priceless life skills there.

I find it actually pretty humbling to see these guys at their work. No proper tools or what a Western mechanic would call a workshop. And the younger lads right there playing just an important part as their older workmates. You all have my admiration of your skill and ability.

These Pakistani people have huge potential and have talent and skills.

The best part is watching this young man learning the trade working very closely with the other members

I was so happy to see a head gasket, crank seal, and exhaust manifold gaskets. That magic gasket in a can will only get you so far!

They never used any computer or internet these engine builders because they don’t need a computer to tell them anything because they are the computer God bless guys

Hundreds of bolts in dozens different sizes and shapes and they know by heart what goes where. Respect

Putting back in place all the dismantled parts of the engine whhich are mixed with one another requires extraordinary mechanical skill. Give these guys a complete set of modern tools and they will trouble shoot any engine problem with perfection! Salute to ingenuity and skills guys.

These talented workers working together on an engine like honey bees working together on a flower. That's amazing. Pakistani labor is very talented but sadly very underpaid and over worked for their hard work. Mechanics here in Canada 🇨🇦 don't even bother overhauling this kinda engine. They just scrap it and swap a new, used or rebuild engine into the vehicle.

This was one of the cleanness engine shoppes I've seen since watching these videos but what was really enlightening was how freely the senior mechanics the two younger ones to partake in breaking down the engine and you could see that these young ones had any free of making mistakes so the older mechanics had a real talent for teaching.

I love it. They assembled the engine without a torque wrench and no bolt pattern. My C mechanic knows to get the bolt pattern and torque specs before trying to assemble any engine.

This is why I have learned, from a very young age, to do this type of work myself, for myself, by myself, because the only thing I hate more than have to fix a motor once, is having to fix it twice!

Now that's teamwork in full effect!! Good stuff

Agree with others in these comments. Whats so wonderful is to see this team working together. Here, in the west, everything is like done by one guy - its lonely ! But thats also why so many tools are required ! Life is something done in group for these guys.

Impressive what is accomplished with the bare minimum of tools. There is a lot of experience there to use the right amount hammer and torque when reassembling.Hats off to you guys and the youngsters.

Excellent work ! The master and his crew deserved all the credit. Prerfect example of “Hard working + Talent “. The missing part in all Pakistan Repair videos is the “ professional working culture”. I grow up in a similar society back in 1970s. I worked in a car mechanic shop ( cleaning carburetors, and spark plugs etc). These workers do not have the concept of “ safety “ that we ( in USA) know. They learned skills simply mimicking their uncles / masters. The current “working environment culture “ is comming from generation to generation. For them “ this is the work condition “. They are happy with what they are doing . The system will not change unless there is a enforcement by superiors (i.e. government ) This is something can be achieved if the government comes up with better training, affordable power tools, improved “ working condition” standards, training and imposing the laws. We are talking about “paradigm shift” here. So, once implemented there will be improved efficiency and better human health, and prosperity of the society. Like it is happening in developed countries. For example ; In USA history “Civilian Conservation Corps” had achieved the paradigm shift and improved standards for the workplace safety.

As a non mechanic I only wonder how they know which bolts go where. As far as I saw, they were removing bolts and just throwing them all together in blue buckets.. Respect..

Wore me out on assembly saying "click" on every nut and bolt going on. Good work. Just wish you had some gloves in that darn solvent. Ah well keep feeding you family and a very impressive turnaround.

I love this, as an engineer seeing first hand involvement of youngsters is enlightening in a world of none vocational preferences. The can do attitude and interest is in abundance, not sure about the ceiling light fixture being used as a hoist point be a good idea though:)

Engine rebuilding is a tedious task but it's worth the money you saved..and the joy you feel is priceless.. when you get the engine running again,,

I'm proud of those young boys learning a way to earn a living, especially being we live in a country where WAY TOO MANY adults are allowed to lay around all day living off the fruits of the working man. Why are only criminals made to do roadside cleanups yet there's plenty of people milking the system that are doing absolutely zero to pay for their existence on this planet.

With such a great bunch of guys working on that engine I bet it now runs like a clock 😁

Here in old Europe we have to use a torque wrench on the tightening force and the order of tightening of the bolts. Masters of renovation ;-)

The way they stripped out that engine takes some knowledge and skill!! There the best I’ve ever seen in my life And these guys don’t get have the credit for their outstanding work they are the best simple as )) When they were stripping the engine down there must have been at least 30 different parts and places to fit back on how did they know what bolts to put on at certain parts being fitted Totally amazing mind blowing stuff some of them are only in their teens Ffs You all should be very proud of yourselfs for the work you do)) god bless ya all

I think these guys are pretty experienced, they know how to tighten. I've seen supposedly rebuilds fail even with all best practices followed, even factory engines can't make it off the assembly line. This truck is probably overloaded already and doing just fine.

I wish the channel would show the engine being tested after the rebuild. These videos end too quickly.

Another Absolutely Fantastic Show of Learning and Perseverance. Watching the young lad learning was a joy in itself! >> "The Young Apprentice". My only disappointments on this was 1) I didn't get to see the engine painted. 2) I didn't get to see it re-installed into the truck and run. and last, 3) I didn't get to see Micky an Mini Mouse. 👍🤣
