The Entire 23rd World Martial Arts Tournament | Dragon Ball
Following the battle with Demon King Piccolo, Goku is restored to full health courtesy of Korin, but is met with the realization that those killed by Piccolo and his demons cannot be revived, due to Piccolo's merciless killing of Shenron. However, Korin remembers one person who could restore Shenron to his former glory..."Kami", otherwise known, as "God". Goku visits Kami utilizing his Power Pole, but notices he looks awfully familiar to the Demon King Piccolo himself. Kami is revealed to be the other half of Piccolo as they used to be a single being, the birth of Piccolo having been brought upon by Kami himself, in an attempt to remove all of the evil from his body. As a "Thank You" to Goku, Kami revives Shenron, and realizing Goku aims to get stronger, Kami agrees to train him for three years in order to defeat Piccolo, who's apparently still alive. Before he died, the Demon King spat out an egg in his likeness, who now harbors a deep desire to kill Goku. Goku opts to train for 3 years and meet his revived friends at the 23rd World Tournament, where Piccolo shows his face as well, ready to fulfill his fathers destiny.
