I can't comprehend how one could even dislike Aventurine after 2.1, I already liked him when I heard him on the phone with Topaz during the Belobog/IPC mission before 2.0 😭😂

Aventurine is an example of how great writing can change perception of a character, from indifferent/dislike to an absolute favourite/likable. 2.0 to 2.1 was a huge and dramatic shift for him.

i never dislike characters and never see how someone can. i might not like their actions, but as long as they are written well, i enjoy them and the story they tell. i was always confused how people didn't like Furina and when i finally played/finished the story (last month xDD) i was still confused where the hate came from in 4.0

The IPC let the Avgins die on purpose methinks, maybe some kind of deal they made with the Katicans beforehand. Even though they were strong and ruthless, I refuse to believe the Katicans could be strong enough to beat the IPC (one of the strongest organizations in HSR), considering Sigonia was a planet with little resources. Maybe they decided they had nothing to gain by protecting a "weaker" community? Either way, it feels like something's up for sure. I hope we get to know more about this, since the Katicans are still alive. 👀

The Avgins and the Katicans were left out of the Sigonian Sovereignty that was created by the IPC to unite the other Sigonian tribes. The Katicans were more aggressive and warmongering than the Avgins (who stole to survive). However, the IPC and the sovereignty decided that in exchange for excluding these two tribes, they were allowing the two to maintain their own autonomy. In other words, whatever was happening between the two, the IPC and the sovereignty were not going interfere (aka they were going to sit back and do nothing), resulting in the extinction event that wiped out the rest of the Avgins and left Aventurine as the sole survivor.

and over 3k Avgins are "missing". i think the IPC is using them elsewhere and/or the Katicans kept most of them

Now how about all those people who 'don't like Dr. Ratio anymore because he's racist' but still love/pulled for Sparkle who is ACTUALLY racist, and who were not only spouting the racist and ableist things Sparkle was saying to Aventurine, but went around using slurs about REAL indigenous groups to express their hatred for Aventurine? It wasn't as simple as disliking him. Twitter, Tumblr, KZfaq, Reddit, etc... were all filled with racist stuff against him.

My take on the Ratio/Sparkle racism thing… Looking back at the context, at worst you could say Sparkle is “racist”. In the case of Ratio though, I’d call it him being blunt as the language he used in that interaction was him stating Aventurine IS Sigonian and IS a slave. He was stating Aventurine’s dire circumstances in the eyes of others as Aventurine claimed everything was going well despite having no support and losing the Cornerstone. As for Sparkle, I think she was more trying to take shots at him for the annoyance she felt at him following her for 45 minutes. Still messed up, but it falls in line with Sparkle’s character not caring for morals. As for those irl people saying racist shit to attack Aventurine’s character, they’re worse than Sparkle. They’re FICTIONAL characters…

I still cannot fathom not liking Aventurine, even before 2.1. I get it on some level, he was purposefully annoying in the 2.0 quest and we didn't know much about him- but to the degree people hated him didn't make sense. It was so obvious there was more to him and that he was acting that way as a facade, not to mention the obvious branding on his neck before it was even revealed to be as such. It's crazy to me people actually bought into his acting. This isn't my first rodeo with these types of characters, so maybe that's why it was so obvious to me, but still. unfathomable, really.

It’s fine if you read and still didn’t like him, but the fact you didn’t bother to pay attention yet claimed he “only cares for himself” is a wild claim to me. Heck, even if he was acting with some self-interest, so what? Selfishness isn’t necessarily a bad thing, there’s a little thing called self-preservation. Which is ironic, since Aventurine has major insecurity and self-worth issues, but NOBODY ELSE is going to protect him so he has to care for himself…

If you are referring to the fact he doesn't care about the IPC or their mission, why should he? The IPC are part of the reason his entire race was genocided and basically enslaved him again after he killed his slave owner. I know reading comprehension is on the decline, but this is ridiculous lol.

When I first saw Aventurine, i had no plans to pull for him, but after finding out more about him, i finally decided to try and go for him but, instead lost my 50/50 to Bronya's E2. Not gonna lie, i was a little bit depressed, because Kakavasha grew on me. Hopefully, the next time he comes around again I will be guaranteed. ;-;

I always liked Aventurine from the start, but then again I like Sunday despite both looking like red flags. Wasn’t fooled by his act in 2.0, then 2.1 payoff punched me in the gut. I can understand if others didn’t feel the same way, but an irl lesson to take from characters like Aventurine is don’t judge solely by appearance. Looks ARE deceiving, how an individual acts initially could simply be a hurt person lashing out. Of course it’s not right to be shitty on first encounter, but it makes sense once you understand. So don’t take bullshit lying down, but do pay attention to others around you.

I love him the moment I saw his design and then I love and adore him even more after finishing the story. He's my baby, my son 😢 I was kind of saddened seeing people hating him back then because how sussy he is but it made me like him because of it lmao I like antagonistic character that's also a softie. I hope we see him more but probably not since he will be on a well deserved vacation 😂

I highly recommend watching IAmEmaMae’s video called Aventurine’s Full Plan Explained. I really think her theory of where things might be heading and I am kinda hoping she’s right.

I didn't like him at first. He wa very uncomfortable is a sleazy kind of way and I think/understand it could've been intentional. After his story, I won't say I don't hate him nor do I like him, but I understand him more and respected his journey. To me, he is a character that I keep at an arm's length. The kind where you can tip a hat to or nod to yourself and move one. Maybe it's just me but that's how I feel.
