I had some people breaking in to my house. Threatening my disabled kid and bed bound Mom. I found out that the cops who showed up to the 1st two calls didn't even file the report. The 3rd did the report. It wasn't followed up on. The 4th time,it was taken seriously. I explained in detail who was involved,why this was happening. That I was done. The cops have proven time and time again that they won't do anything. Now it's my turn. I guaranteed him that they would show up when I was there. When that happens,the cops will be called. They will be told to have the morgue send their wagon. I will give them the DNA that they want for proof of those idiots F'ing with me. That cop realized that I was serious. Actually asked if I knew where the people live. I told him. He said he would pay them a visit. I told the cop to tell them what I have said. Then ask 1in particular if they believed that I would in do exactly what I said. That cop called me the next day. Said he did talk to them. Did ask the 1 if I was serious. The answer: Oh yeah, she'll do every bit of that and more. Evidently he scolded the 1 for being completely stupid for playing with a dragon. They never came around after that.

holy shit, i'm so glad that the OP and DIL and their families got away from that psychoic hag. but honestly, i blame OP's old workplace and the police for all of this shit happening; if they had just did their jobs to prevent that hag and those two puppets of hers from accessing OP's home, maybe most of these events could've been prevented. i just hope that OP and her SO can heal from this traumatic journey and live their best lives with their little fur babies. 💜

MIL would rather kill than accept accountability for her actions against her son and his family and even at bare minimum, within the privacy of her own mind, admit to herself that she is the only one to blame for how her son wants nothing to do with her.

I heard a story awhile back, with a very similar situation. Good Samaritan steps in to help... the giant big difference was that the op worked in law enforcement in forensics and the crazy mil went after her while at a scene. That story had receipts (news articles). I kept reminding myself throughout this story...op stepped in to help, that crazy cee ewe next Tuesday wasn't her mil. 😮

I don't know why people post legal matters online. The first thing their lawyers should have told them about this sort of thing is don't.

Situations like this are why I'm glad I live in a state with Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground laws.

I remember this story from the OG justnomil subreddit. A lot of those stories from those days were faker than a four dollar bill. The over the top escalation, the introduction of other characters posting their side of the story on the sub, our long suffering OP that has a million anxiety disorders, and most importantly, the comically evil MIL that somehow faces no consequences.

Like, security or OP could've still reported if they were to play back the video in secret and tell DIL discreetly instead of confronting her outright as OP did. Then what would she have without a way to pinpoint exactly who 'snitched' ?? She had one job, and that was not be a POS to her grandson, but couldn't.
