For those who don’t know Eloy, he is the kind of guy who studies drums 24h a day. He breaths drums, he eat drums, he talks about drums all day. He pursue drumming perfection since he was a kid. Some famous people who took drum lessons from him said that he is obsessed with perfection.

Spot on. I see why they brought him onboard. Eloy brings the power, the groove, and the speed but not too much speed. I still respect Jay and what he brought to the band, but they are sounding more powerful than ever with Eloy and it's awesome.

100% - unfortunately everyone is now being quick to shit on Jay like he didn't save the band from ending. When I saw them in Feb 2020, he absolutely smashed it and I remember multiple conversations upon leaving the venue, with everyone saying how incredible he was. I think something must have changed in more recent times, because he just kept playing things way too fast or was rushing through parts.

@@SovereignKingyeah I noticed Jay sped up his playing back in 2019 when they started touring again after their 2 year break. He wasn't playing that fast during the gray chapter era I don't think. And it's unfortunate that people are shitting on him now.

honestly man the difference is immense. jay was a perfect plug n play replacement to joey. eloy is an actual machine, which is why we love him. unfortunately, i feel that eloy is too clean a drummer for a band like slipknot. the energy comes from swinging tempos, sloppy fills, and machine gun blastbeats. eloy is a technical, masterful click track drummer, and that’s not a diss. eloy is built to drum in metal bands, but he’s so precise that he takes away from the chaos that is slipknot. their live show, for the first time ever, feels tame. he civilized a savage band. some will like it, and some will hate it.

Honestly he did slack it on the rolls and fills. But it’s his first show with the band can’t say Jay didn’t fuck up at all on his first gig. Overall the whole setlist he killed it. It was so much fun being there for it

@@SovereignKing Supporters in Brazil? You probably have more than you can imagine. Everyone thinks we only care about soccer and carnival, but that couldn't be further from the truth. A large part of Brazil's population doesn't even care about that, and we're literally everywhere hahaah... For a whole decade, I dedicated myself to playing drums, and my biggest idol has always been Joey, to now witness Eloy stepping into his shoes it just feels surreal. No disrespect to Jay, he's great! But things haven't been quite the same for me since. Eloy's performance has reconnected me with my roots. You rock ma man, keep up the good work!👊

Do you realize that we Brazilians are extremely proud of all this? I'm 33 years old, I remember that the last time I felt this happy was when we won the FIFA Cup in 2002, our fifth! After that, nothing was as exciting as seeing Eloy in slipknot, I saw little Eloy on television playing on a mini drum kit, he went to several television programs, and always followed his dream, and As if we were Eloy's father, there's no way to express this feeling of enormous happiness for Eloy! Dudes, gotta say, I've been into some seriously heavy bands for ages, including Slipknot themselves, one of my all-time favorites since their first album. I've racked up hundreds of hours at shows, rocking out to some killer bands, BUT what I saw last night had me freaking out and buzzing in a way I can't remember happening before. The sheer brutal force Eloy brings to that drum kit is something else. Some might think I'm exaggerating, but believe me (seriously!) Eloy's debut show as Slipknot's drummer is already legendary! And you know what's even cooler and badass? This new chapter for the band is just getting started. Onward, Slipknot! Onward, Eloy Casagrande! Caras, tenho que dizer, tenho sido fã de algumas bandas muito pesadas há anos, incluindo o próprio Slipknot, um dos meus favoritos de todos os tempos desde o primeiro álbum deles. Já acumulei centenas de horas em shows, curtindo algumas bandas matadoras, MAS o que vi ontem me fez arrepiar e vibrar de uma maneira que não me lembro de ter acontecido antes. A força brutal com que o Eloy tem tocado essa bateria é algo incrível. Im Hoping we can get some Drum Cams like we did with Jay or atleast some clips with audio from the Drum Mics, i was watching another posted on yt from one of the guys who was there & the audio was disappointing, this is a lot better from well a more central location from the stage.

It’s been decades since that double kick part in the middle has been played properly live. Eloy is an absolute gift to the band and fans. This is the beginning or a new era of Knot!!!! Slipknot since day 1 has been dependent on the drums and it’s not been the same since Joey departed……. Until now.
