When a website or app asks us to read the terms and conditions, we are usually faced with a small print we have to endlessly scroll through, making it difficult to focus on what we are agreeing to - if we read it at all. The DSA will ensure that very large online platforms (those with over 45 million users in the EU) provide concise and unambiguous summaries of their terms and conditions in the local EU language, so we all know what we are accepting. Of course, this only lists a few of the many ways the DSA will improve our online lives. Explore our pages to find out more about how the DSA will create a safer and fairer online world.

▬ About Digital EU ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Directorate-General for Communications Networks, Content and Technology (DG Connect) develops and implements policies to make Europe fit for the digital age.
We invest in research, innovation, deployment and uptake of trustworthy and green digital technologies that improve our economy and people’s lives.
Through funding, legislation and policy initiatives, we help ensure European leadership and independence in critical digital technologies(such as Artificial Intelligence, Common Data Spaces, high-performance computing, 5G, micro-electronics, blockchain and quantum).
We work towards making Europe a global leader in the data economy and in cybersecurity. We foster the internal market where all companies can invest and compete on equal terms, develop, market and use digital technologies, products and services and where the rights of creators and consumers are respected. We work on the deployment of very high-speed networks to all companies and households, as connectivity is key for digital transformation. We promote the EU’s human-centric model of an innovative, fair and sustainable digital transformation of society, which respects our democratic values, our fundamental rights and cultural diversity. We help bridge the digital divide by supporting digital literacy and skills of EU citizens.
▬ About the European Commission ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
The Commission represents and upholds the interests of the EU as a whole, and is independent of national governments. The European Commission prepares legislation for adoption by the Council (representing the member countries) and the Parliament (representing the citizens). It administers the budget and the policy programmes (agriculture, fisheries, research etc.) in cooperation with authorities in the member countries. The Commission's work is steered by a College of Commissioners, and led by its President. The Commissioners work on specific policy priorities that are set out by the Commission President.
