EVO 252: rebrand.ly/7tz57
I've had a lot of questions on the helmet that I use every day while spraying. The EVO 252 by Evolution Helmets has been an amazing helmet for me for the last few years. Check out what I like about it by watching the vid and let me know if you have any questions.

Just got my EVO 052 this summer. If your thinking about getting this helmet my advice is to get the largest size they make, no matter your head size. They provide you with plenty of spacers to fit your head.

I remember when my father required his crop duster pilots to wear helmets (hard hats back then) in the mid-1950s. It also included not only the Stearman pilots but the PA 18 pilot. Betts was the PA-18 pilot and he refused to wear a helmet, father told him he couldn’t fly then. Betts started wearing a helmet. One day he hit his head on the strut of the PA-18 and just turned around and smiled. He was happy he had his helmet.

Haha great story! I’m always banging my head against the side windows when it’s rough out.

@@AgAviationAdventures My parents had about 50 ag planes in the mid 50s. Mostly Stearmans. During that timeframe the crews traveled to spray locations in a group of 6 planes. Operations from Quebec Canada to Panama. We lived in Alice, TX at the time. My dad was president of the national ag association and Lloyd Nolan served as treasurer if I remember correctly. Lloyd is, of course, the founder of the then Confederate Air Force. My father was an original member. They flew around the country for the state ag conventions in Lloyd’s Apache. My father was flying in Nicaragua at the same time Leland Snow was flying there too. Father counted Leland as a friend and fellow ag operator.

A great educational video on what the professionals in your industry should be using. Safety First, I totally understand your decisions for going with the products you use. You are a professional doing a very dangerous job. Anything that you can do to give you an advantage to prevent an emergency from occurring or helps you accomplish the task is a win! Carry On and take care.

Do you like having the tinted visor on the outside and the yellow on the inside, or do you think the other way around would work better - yellow on the outside and tinted on the inside? With the different mechanisms to drop them down is one easier to use?
@AgAviationAdventures
@AgAviationAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
I like the way it's setup. I use the tinted visor more frequently and it's a little easier to use.

What was the name of that plug you have wired into your plane and headset? I like the idea of not having to carry and switch batteries all the time. If you have a link to the website, that would be great! Love the vids!

The outer lens is the Jade Gradient, you can find it here: www.evolutionhelmets.com/EVO-Jade-Gradient-Lenses-_p_1100.html and the inner is the yellow. Hope this helps!!

Thanks for the information on your gear. What are some of the typical items you carry with you on your long days?? Do bring your lunch up or shut down ops for an hour to go grab some chow??
@AgAviationAdventures
@AgAviationAdventures 3 жыл бұрын
I usually already have water and depending on where I’m flying maybe I’ll bring a lunch or someone will grab something from town. I usually eat it on the ground in 5 or 10 minutes or in the air if it’s a longer ferry. Rarely do I shut down unless it’s a slow day.

@@AgAviationAdventures That's what I was thinking. You want that engine running and not shutting down for anything. I start flying again 2 weeks.

How much equipment is an ag pilot expected to furnish for themselves? A helmet and their lunch? I've heard it said in the motorcycle world that if you've got a forty dollar head get'ya a forty dollar helmet!

What don’t you like? I’ve had mine for 4 years and love it. The only issue I’ve had is with the Bose and they repaired it. I really disliked the Gentex but it was very worn out by the time I gave it away.
