It’s interesting to know that Gary Holt is the only member of the band to be on every single album
@albacastilloaviisrael66083 жыл бұрын
Things learned in this video: The beginnings of Kirk Hammett before Metallica The beginnings of John Tempesta before Rob Zombie (he joined Testament briefly after Exodus disbanded) Gary Holt has been the longest-standing member in Exodus Btw, RIP Paul Baloff (1960-2002) And wishing Tom Hunting good luck with his treatment.

He was such a character! We opened a show for Exodus in '94 when he rejoined the band and hung out in our practice studio around the corner with us drinking beer late into the night after the show. He even sang a bit to a few of our tunes. Never a dull moment that night.

I remember listening to "Bonded" when it came out, and thought that LP smokes anyone else at the time, including "Master of Puppets". And it just got better from there. The saddest point was when my old Metal band Descent, opened for Exodus in 1994 and only 30 people showed up for the show in Santa Barbara, CA. It deflated my drive to play Thrash big-time.... Long live Exodus!

That's metal, that happens. It sucks, but you just work through it. At least you know the 30 that showed up were hardcore heads, and worthy of a good show. Playing death metal Keeps the ego in check, I've played shows in front of 1000, and in front of 5. Lol. Take care brother.

Well, Tom Hunting's still in the band today after he returned in 2007, and there are bands like Judas Priest, Sepultura, Opeth, and Napalm Death on this channel that don't have original members (Trivium probably counts too since Matt Heafy joined shortly after its formation).

@waynepurcell60582 жыл бұрын
@@Miist3rDuce1 No way. I'm not a new fan either, I've been a fan for a LONG time. Shovelheaded Kill Machine through Exhibit B- The Human Condition was the heaviest Exodus EVER was. Rob Dukes kills on those albums. Vocally he sounds like a guy that could beat a infant to death with a claw hammer. I refer to the Dukes era Exodus as the "violent era exodus". Baloff was the personification of metal by his "attitude", he really lived it, but he wasn't really all that great as a vocalist. Hell he had difficulties keeping time too, Holt and Hunolt would have to babysit him on stage to make sure he wouldn't miss his cues.

Dukes was actually a pretty powerful vocalist, but I'd always been a fan of Zetro. I was lucky enough to see them live in 2001 with Paul. That was certainly awesome and then in 2002 I saw them again with Zetro on W:O:A. Possibly one of my favorite all time gigs. Also - one member that I probably miss the most in Exodus is Rick. His solos combined with Gary's were so so special. All together I think I've seen Exodus live about 7 times from 2001 to 2011. [maybe even more] I've talked to Gary twice before the gig in 2004 and after the gig in 2005. He's awesome.
