i just realized how dumb he was. (its funny cause my teacher in middle school said, "you wont like him in 10yr. Why is she giving him chances though after he forced himself on her. I mean red flags all over this guy. Telling her she talks too much when she said 8 words to him that day. I get that he was good looking and everything but he was very immature and she should’ve just recognised this wasn’t going to end well.

+Chris Jarma They do that sometimes because some shows may have sexual content and it's not the best idea to have a minor do those scenes

+Chinenye Kalu that's makes sense, but really sad that some kids actually do sexually scenes which is sad to watch and probably worse for them.

They also do that because minors have school to attend so it's harder to find time to film with them cast. That was the issue they had with Claire so in order to make that work, they wrote in more scenes for the mother.

That's why I liked Freaks & Geeks. While Linda Cardelini was way older than her character, John Francis Daly was 14, just like Sam, and I loved it. You NEVER see high school dramas where a boy's voice hasn't changed yet, despite being a sophomore. Yet in real life, that kind of thing happens ALL the time.

Claire Danes did not want to do another season. She wanted to finish high school and attend college.

for me it's the opposite, when I was younger I just thought he was dumb, didn't like him very much (nor I liked Brian, let s be clear XD ). Now I can see that he's just a boy who's growing up, With sooooo many emotions bottled up he doesn't know how to express, and that must have been really frustrating. He has an abusive father, so no parental guidance like Angela has about relationships and sex. He has a learning disability and, like many teenagers, pretends he doesn't care instead of reaching for help. I definitely re-evaluated him.

I know I grown up because Angela’s dad is cute now I rewatch the series 😂

Nah, I don't think she would have seen he was a waste of time, because he wasn't. I think it could have happened one of two ways: She would have stayed with him and been the influence he needed to work harder and better himself, or she would have stayed with him for a while before deciding he was her first love but cannot be her last and moved on with her life but still been the influence he needed. I mean she did influence him a lot. I actually see her (if she didn't stay with him) being with another guy (definitely not Brian)

He liked her, deep down, but no action of his during the entire series demonstrated love. I actually liked that the writers kept it that way.

prestico I beg to differ. Getting out of ones comfort zone is the most primary love act. I'd venture to say she was his first love. But loving someone and knowing how to love someone aren't the same. The writers portrayed him as a immature teenager who was strong in what he was comfortable at and unconsciously looked to her for what he wasn't. He couldn't articulate his thoughts or feelings like so many teenage boys. While teenage girls think love is magic and know exactly how they want their love returned. This show and this imperfect teenage love resonated with many of us. If he were able to love her properly it wouldn't have been as adored a show because that's not real life.

She was 14 and he was 21 when they did their first kissing scene. She did an interview where she said that he was the person who basically taught her how to kiss. You can’t really tell that there is a 7 yr age difference though.

If they promised to stay together as a couple, they should talk about their fears and how to overcome them. She should help him on his reading problem and he should help her on being comfortable and ready about sex. The point is to know and trust each other more than before. A relationship on a new basis.
