Both true and untrue. A major driver for innovation is competition, therefore cooperation does not mean faster or better solutions. It rather means that you'll get a solution.

This cant be because First, whoever lands First literally owns it. Second, you can't land on Mars because Mars doesn't support life, third, even if you manage to reach your destination somehow, there won't be enough fuel for the return trip.

Glad you mentioned Goddard. I've watched many videos about the history of rocket development that just skip right to the V-2 and just forget about the Father of Modern Rocketry. Also great video overall. I do like the history dating all the way back to fireworks and philosophers.

The thumbnail of this video is misleading. It shows picture of rockets 1891 / 1943 / 1969 / NOW. 1891 shows the Goddard's first ever Liquid Fueled Rocket. However it is launched on 1926. Is the thumbnail picture of this Video is Wrong?

There are are a lot of weird inconsistencies between the script and the visuals. Like when they show the Space Shuttle when talking about the 1960s

Tipu Sultan's rockets were designed to explode on impact, and they were much more accurate and had a longer range than the rockets used by the British. They caused panic and chaos among the British troops, who had never seen such weapons before

Because USA no longer felt competition from any other superpower…for better or worse with China rising again there will again be increased spending.

Now that SpaceX is on the scene, competition is now having to lower cost and innovate or they will die.

It takes competition or war to fund progress in rocketry. I'm grateful there's less of the latter although who knows what happens in secret, and SpaceX advances means other companies need to innovate or they'll fail.

I believe the Chinese invented solid rocket engines first. And then Goddard invented the FIRST EVER liquid fuel rocket.

but the germans perfected and made a far advanced version that worked in real time war. many german scientists helped in the moon landing projects. many lesser lights worked with soviet scientists

I don't get this. Rockets are also bad for the climate. They release a lot of carbon dioxide. So we should pause the rocket industry, until we have electrical rockets. That releases 0% carbon dioxide. (If electrical batterys, is the future. Beacuse batterys is bad for the climate, too. In their way.) Just my thoughts on rockets.

The number of batteries needed would be too heavy to lift a rocket through the atmosphere. More importantly, a new thrust system would have to be used, like a turbine. We could use electrostatic or ion thrusters, but those only work well in the vacuum of space (where solar power is also plentiful).

CH4 rockets (starship) can be made pretty easily in a carbon neutral way...extract co2 and h2o from the atmosphere and convert to ch4 and o2. also commercial planes generate millions of times the pollution that the rocket industry. Electric rockets are never going to be a thing...in the far future we may have fusion powered electric plasma engines in space, but nothing beats the chemical engine for actually getting to orbit.
