2010-2014 all have solid rear axels. The independent rear suspension in that time started with the S550.

@nj033 - It's funny that with all the criticism of the Mustang not having IRS during the 1960s, it didn't hurt the solid rear axle Mustang from clobbering the IRS Corvette on the track for 3 consecutive SCCA B Production Championships, '65, '66 and '67!

@Loulovesspeed Correct! Part of the issue lies with the fact that most people that call them selves "car guys" don't understand that the mustang has always been first and foremost a 1/4 mile car and not a road course car. Having said that, if you're a good driver, then you can competently drive a solid rear axel car around a road course. If you are a good driver and want every bit of a competitive advantage?! Then yes, IRS is the way to go.
