During the Second World War, there were a huge numbers of executions carried out by the Einsatzgruppe. These were a number of executioners who served inside of the SS, following up the advances of the German Army. They slaughtered hundreds of thousands of people en mass inside of occupied lands such as the Soviet Union. But there were a number of men who commanded the Einsatzgruppe and some of these at the end of World War 2 were executed.

Why is it 'amazing'? Comments like yours indicate a desire to do away with the rule of law and due process. Fair enough, if you want that, just state it. State that you're happy for the process to, inevitably, go wrong on occasion, and for innocent people to be imprisoned, or executed. Would that achieve better outcomes?

I have a Sommergefechtsbluse Modell M-35 for an SD Unterscharführer that did time with Einsatzgruppe - A. During the fighting withdrawal to Warsaw, he was wounded by a strafing airplane and evac'd to Prague, then to Frankfurt where he was born. His injuries had him labeled " Front unfähig" and he was on light/ limited duty as Germany collapsed then surrendered. He went to his childhood home, hid his Uniform and Soldbuch, and assumed the identity of a Senior Sgt. That died in the Frankfurter Hauptlazarette. He went to work for US Forces and 5th Corp in Frankfurt where he was a motor pool mechanic for 37 years. He gave me his uniform a year before he died. With a large glass of Schnapps, he would describe Einsatzgruppen " Sonderaktionen" that would make the hair on your neck stand up. One of the rarest uniforms in my extensive WW2 German Militaria collection.

out of the hundreds of thousands SS men only three small units did all of these crimes. The Einsatzgruppe, Dirlwinger Brigade (prisoners let out) and Totenkopf Camp guards. Prob 5% of the entire organization. I am German, a collector and historian. We can cherry pick crimes all day but can not condem all of the soldiers who fought against Communist Bolshevism. In 1932 the Bolshevist (Holodomor) starved 10 million people and turned them into cannibals. The Germans knew this and went after those Marxist who infiltrated the German Universities, govt, media. They fought back. You would have done the same. War is Hell.

Also, there is the issue of pronouncing a foreign word in your mother-tongue: do you pronounce the term as an englishman, or as a german, with a british accent. I agree with you. My father was a Polish soldier fighting in 1939 in Warsaw and later in northern France in 1940 and then joining the Polish First Armored Division in England. He hated the Germans all his life and I don’t blame him.
