The Exorcist is perfection; cast, script, film - I find no fault with it at all. It should've taken every single Oscar - and then some - that it was nominated for. And Linda Blair is a true sweetheart.

William Friedkin is a demanding perfectionist of a film maker, and at the age of 13, Linda Blair went above and beyond to deliver all of the challenges required for the character of Regan MacNeil. I still remember this film drawing out my primal fears, and not sleeping well for weeks afterwards. A masterpiece of cinema indeed, and Ms. Blair is largely responsible for it.

My favorite movie of all time...Linda should of won an Oscar she was only 14 for Christs sake!! Phenomenal performance..most actresses can't do that as an adult. Outstanding acting all around and the cinematography was awesome..love the streelight scene and the poster is a collectors item my favorite

I just watched the clip of “the spider walk” from the extended Exorcist movie and it TRULY CREEPED ME OUT!

The spider walk was great but the theatrical version is the one you want to watch FIRST if you want to experience The Exorcist because of the way it takes you in and gives you the full intense experience. The DC version is great if you want to see the demon do some more demonic stuff but without a doubt The Exorcist is the #1 Horror movie of ALL TIME.

I always like having both versions of films. Sometimes I am in the mood for the "version you've never seen" but sometimes I want to watch the original as it is the version that made me interested, and made me read the book.

I am such a huge fan of all Linda Blair's movies and I feel so fortunate to have met and had a photograph with her back in 2011. I have seen the film The Exorcist 1000 times on video and only a few times in a real movie theater since 2000 including in 2011 when I met Linda at a meet and greet, but like I said on video about 1000 times since I was a kid back since 1979 when I first saw it at 7 years old on TV at my Grandma's house!

I love watching her interviews. And this one especially, since some good questions were asked.

Here's the thing, in the movie, Regan was unable to leave her bedroom (for whatever reason) except for the spider walk? I think Friedkin wanted Regan restricted to her bedroom because as soon as that thing can walk around the whole house?! Well that kind of changes everything.

This movie is honestly my favorite horror film if not, one of my favorites. I remember watching the film one night with a friend of mine on the sixth or seventh grade. At first we were thinking that it wasn't scary and that it was boring. But as soon as that "Fuck me!" scene came along, we were fucked up for life. I don't even know what it was about that scene that scared us. For me, it was Regan's face when possessed. I couldn't get that face out of my head for years to come. I cannot watch The Exorcist without feeling some sort of dread.

She really should have Oscar winner by name!

I like that where she took a movie of evil and used it to bring good in the world. It’s good she done charity work and like she said the movie gave her the platform to do this. Must of been hard on her as a child doing that movie for the press to turn on her. She kept it together and smile for the press and being 15 at the time must of been hard on her. I’m glad she grow up with out of this affecting her and gone on to to good things. Well done Linda your one amazing woman and good on you for the good work you do now. I wish you well in everything you do in life.

I met her 4 years ago and it was one of the worst celebrity encounters I had, she didn't want to talk about any of her movies, only her foundation, she kept changing the subject and had an attitude, like she was better than me, she had a scarf on and her Starbucks cup, I paid her $70.00 for an autograph and a picture with her beside the booth, We took a second photo because my eyes were closed in the first photo, she put her hand up in our faces and said "OK OK I THINK YOU GOT THE SHOT". If I wouldn't have paid ahead of time I would have walked away from her. She doesn't like horror, she doesn't like her fans, she's ungrateful and only doing conventions to promote her foundation. I was told she caused a commotion in Toronto, Ontario at FanExpo, she made the venue move her into a "paid area" in the corner because she was complaining people were taking her photo from far away, and apparently she didn't want to do her Q&A she demanded no one take photos or videos.

I am as old as this movie. I was not allowed to watch this movie until I was 12. I was super fascinated with the stories my parents told of the day they went to the theatre to see the movie. People crying, throwing up scared to death. Nuns stationed in a corner giving away rosary beads and bibles. My mom said I was 3 months old when they went to see this movie. My parents said they didn't sleep for a week, they were that scared.

@shadowman2192 I read somewhere that the reason she didn't win an oscar was because a lot of The Exorcist's footage featured a doll? As well as that it was a voice over the top of hers. I guess because of that it would be hard to decide whether she should get awarded one. She was astounding nevertheless.
