(03:31) One route (the connection between two cities) can have two stations. So, one route can be used by the player who claimed it, and two other players, using stations
(07:43) Double routes: You can only use the two lines of a double route in games with 4 or 5 players.

Super helpful video! One question, when drawing cards, if the first card I take is from the deck (a standard color), then the replacement card from the draw pile is a locomotive card is this able to be picked up as my second card or can I only pick a standard color card?

Hi. No, you can´t pick that locomotive card. You have to pick another card, if you want, as your second card. If you choose to make a blind draw for your first card, and you get a locomotive you may draw another card that turn. Lucky you!

The real rules.... You can use one rute in, one rute out of each city you placed a trainstation. So one stations gives two rutes to play with.

Hi Nuno ... Thank you for the explanation. Wonderfully done. Stations can be confusing. If Player 1 builds a station over Player 2's route to complete his connection between two cities , can the Payer 2 still use that route for his/her destination card or does that route now become Player 1's route? What I mean is: In your video at 0.52 seconds, you made a Yellow station to claim the route between Frankfurt to Berlin. If the orange player has a destination card from Frankfurt to Wien -- does that route (over which Yellow station is built) still count for Orange player? Thanks in advance.

Hi! Thanks for your words. The answer is yes. The Orange (red) player can complete the Frankfurt to Wien. By using a train station a player uses a route that belongs to another player, but the route still belongs to the other player. Makes sense?

This is a very good video! I have question, when the draw pile is depleted, does the pile have to be replenished before the next persons turn? He says he can take his turn anyway because he does not need to draw and is going to put cars on the board. Then I say I don't need to draw cause I have enough cards to make play on board. How far can this go on?

Thanks for explaining. I have one question after this: At 5:45 you pay up two locos to build the tunnel. And you pull one loco card from the deck. Do you now have to pay another loco card to complete the tunnel?

Thank you for your explanations, it's really helpful! Just one question about the tunnel, for example I want to build a tunnel between Paris and Zurich which requires 3 cards, but I use 2 Yellow cards and 1 locomotive card, if 1 of the cards I draw from the pile is locomotive, I need to add 1 more Yellow card or 1 more locomotive card to complete the tunnel construction? Hope you understand my question. Thanks in advance!

Q. For drawing two cards. Am I allowed to draw a card, replace it with a fresh card from the deck and the pick up that fresh card as my second draw card? My friends play this way but I wasn't sure if it is against the rules? Pls lmk and thx.

If you use a station, do you get the points of the other player's route you used? For example, at 0:57, does yellow get 4 points (3 trains=4 points) for using the station to continue their train over the red train?

Hi. The train stations let you "borrow" one route (between to cities) from another player. But in this game you don't get points for trains in a route. You get points connecting cities in your tickets.

the question i have about tunnels is this, what if when you are drawing the 3 additional train cards to see if a matching card appears, thereby requiring you to pay the additional card but no matching card comes up, does that mean you are still able to claim the tunnel or you must return the cards to your hand?

Hi! Yes, you can claim the tunnel. The cards would return to your hand if you have to pay extra cards of a given color, but you don´t have any.

in your example of tunnel, I select 3 yellow cards to build the tunnel. When I reveal the top 3 cards, say 1 is red, 1 is pink and 1 is locomotive- can I say,locomotive card (being the wild card) matches with the yellow card that I have laid down? if yes, which card should I Play as an additional card - yellow or locomotive ??? Situation 2: i decide to build tunnel with 3 yellow but when the cards are revealed, no yellow/locomotive card shows up- does that mean i can complete the tunnel with those 3 yellow cards & I dont need to pay the additional card from hand as no matching color shows up or I simply lose the turn because no matching color is reveled

Hi! Yes, when you reveal a locomotive card it will match the color cards that you are using to construct the tunnel. You have to pay another yellow card or a locomotive card from your hand. About the situation 2. If any of the revealed cards aren't the same color, you don't have to pay any extra card and you can build your new tunnel.

What about a situation like the one at 3:33 but there are two players with stations at either end of a single train from a third player. Which of the two players gets to use the train?

If there is a locomotive face up but you take a different face up card first, and then the card you replace it with is a locomotive, can you take that locomotive card for your second card?

What if two players want to claim the same route? Is this possible? Let's say that player 1 has placed train carts on the route connecting Petrograd and Moscow. Player 2 has a train station on Petrograd. Player 3 has a train station on Moscow. Can player 2 and 3 both claim the route at the end of the game?

@@nrebelo83 sorry but this is incorrect. Two people may claim a same route with train stations but they need to place the stations in different cities. For example: a route from Paris to Brest may be claimed by two different players with train stations if one places a station in Paris and the other places the station in Brest. And if another player already had that route initially then yes 3 players may be using that 1 line.

But I've doubts about the second part: I've been playing in this way: during the game the players place train stations in a free city. After someone trigger the end of the game, all players choose the lines they want to use changing the stations from the cities to the line they want.

@@nrebelo83 Take my example given: Paris and Brest. Player A places a station on Paris, Player B places a station on Brest. They do not choose a line until the game ends. Player A that has Paris station, chooses the route Paris-Brest. Player B has Brest station, chooses the route Brest-Paris. They both have the route Paris-Brest or Brest-Paris since they are interchangeable. They are essentially sharing the same route, but since they have their stations in different cities it is VALID. Player C had Paris-Brest or Brest-Paris with his/her original trains. So essentially all 3 players are sharing the same route.

would you please elaborate on this statement, "if there are any cards on the deck when you attempting to build a tunnel, you won't pay any extra cost. in other words does that mean there is no addional charge if a matching card is not drawn from the 3?

You can have any number of cards in your hand. So, in a rare situation all cards could be in the hand of all players. In that rare case there isn't any cards to draw from, so you won't pay anything more for the tunnel construction.

At 3:31 you seem to imply that the two players cannot both choose the same route of the double routes for their respective stations; however, as I understand it, they could: it would make no difference. Any route (R) between two cities (A and B) built by player 1 is SHARED by players 1, 2, and 3 as long as player 2 has a station at city A and player 3 has a station at city B and both players 2 and 3 both move their respective stations to cover R. In other words, what you can do with your station(s) is never affected or limited by what another player does with their station(s).

Hi, What if, Player 1 has a station at Barcelona and Player 2 has a station at Marseille. End of the game Player 1 takes the route Barcelona towards Marseille. Is Player 2 able to take the same route as Marseille towards Barcelona? Annnnnd how is it decided that which player starts first to count the points at end of the game? Thanks!

We just play it by putting the station over the trains right away. works the same way. have never run into a situation where first putting it in a city makes any difference.

That has a problem. Imagine that 3 players want to use the same opponent route. In the way you are playing, that can happen, but following the rules, it shouldn't. An opponent route only can have 2 other player stations.

My question is: Can I place only one card for a tunnel? If so, the next time I want to place on a tunnel, should I reveal 3 top cards again? 2nd question: Where do I place the 3 top reveal cards? I usually put them at the bottom of the deck, but want to play by the rules

Hi! You have to pay cards equal to the length of the tunnel you are attempting to build. For each time you build a tunnel you have to reveal cards; place the cards on the discard pile.

Did you even read the rulebook? Trainstations use 1 rute in & 1 rute out of each city. You will first reveal the picked rute at the end of the game.

Hi Jens! In manner of fact I've read the rule book. During the game you place your train station (s) and at the end of the game you choose the cities you want to connect. Isn't correct? What do you mean 1 route in and 1 out?

If you want to build a tunnel: 1. choose the tunnel; 2. Take cars from your hand (same color and/or locomotives) 3. Reveal 3 cards from the deck: a) if you reveal card (or cards) with the same color (or locomotives) that you have chosen in step 2 -> pay one or more cards (or locomotives) from your hand to proceed with the tunnel; (if you don't have cards in or hand you can't do the tunnel) b) if you don't reveal cards with the same color (or locomotives) proceed with the tunnel. One way to think about tunnel-building is that it helps to have "insurance". Because 3 cards will be turned face-up when you want to build a tunnel, having extra cards in your hand of the same color can assure you of getting the tunnel built. Example: A tunnel requires 4 cards of the same color, for example, green. Since you will have to turn 3 cards face-up from the deck, it helps to have at least 1 extra green card in your hand already to pay if any of those 3 deck cards are green. In theory, all 3 cards turned face-up from the deck could be green, but that is highly unlikely. In general, having 1 or 2 extra cards of the color you are playing to build the tunnel should suffice.
