2018 was indeed a difficult year for BM, but the backlash from metal gatekeepers during the mid-decade period was formidable as well. For insight, check out '10 Times BABYMETAL Was Criticized or Disrespected by People from the Metal Industry' by Omajination, another devoted Kitsune who does fan compilations & also published her own BM guide. Yup, the Download festival booker (Andy Copping) is hilariously featured eating humble pie in her video. Despite his hubris, BM would not only play Download in 2015 (thanks to DragonForce), but also 2016, 2018, 2020 (cancelled down to Covid) & 2024.

Awesome! Great reaction, glad you got a chance to check out the guide! While I absolutely adore the OG Babymetal, I definitely prefer the new Babymetal. They have a more mature sound, yet still remain “kawaii”, but in a sassy grown up manner. Also, their chemistry on stage recently is just a joy to see. Definitely being more of themselves vs their stage personas. As for future reactions, I suggest you just go with your feel. No reason to only focus on new or old. Feel free to jump back and forth, and choose the ones that interest you. I’m sure The One will give you plenty of suggestions too! 🤘🦊

The country Momo moved to was kept private. You were almost finished with The Other One, you might as well finish that out then decide. The rest of the playlist are newer performances of older songs. Where you want to go is ultimately up to you. There will be a whole bunch of new performances of old songs when the latest Blu-ray comes out in July (assuming Amuse are kind and let's it uploaded on KZfaq).
