As someone who has never been to a Disney park and probably never will, this was a ride. Even the fact that people are willing to wait for like an hour for a ride is insane to me.

It's best to go in the off season. When I was fresh out of Basic Training back in the 90s, I got five day passes for military rate, and I went with my best friend, my sister, and some girls from school. We went in February and the park had very few people in it. One day it sprinkled for a half hour or so in the morning and the park was virtually empty all day. It also really helps to go for at least three days, especially if you have kids. If you're only there a day or two, you go sprinting from one ride to the next, trying to cram everything into a single visit. But if you go for three to five days, you can take your time, enjoy some ice cream, meander around, and the park gets a lot more fun. It's especially better on weeknights, because after dark a lot of the people start leaving the park, and the lines get a lot shorter. I took my family last year and some nights the lines were down to ten minutes or less! The new Lightning Lane feature is good too if you can afford it: once per day on each of the big rides you can basically jump to the front of the line. Personally, though, I've noticed that the park is a lot more crowded now than when I was a kid. I know Disney lost a ton of money because of COVID, and they're losing even more because they won't quit making political films and stuff. But when they finally get bought out or get their heads on straight, they should take all that crowding as a sign and open up a third park in Texas. That would help a lot and would make them even more money in the long run while cutting down the crowds.

ik this comment was made a bit ago, but basically in 2022, me and my family visited Disneyworld. we decided to get in line for the Star Wars Galaxy's Edge ride but problem was, that day it kept breaking down multiple times and the line was literally so long, that it took TWO HOURS in the unbearable heat to finally get on the ride. was it worth it? yes and no. the ride was great and really cool, but the wait felt like hell

i have a disability and cant wait in lines because of it, when i go to my countries theme park i have a little ticket where i wait outside the line to go on my next ride and when i look at the paper and see the times people are waiting in the line im shocked, the highest time i saw was 3 hours so i went around the park for the next 3 hours thinking to myself why anyone disability or not would wait in that long of a line

one of my earliest memories of the bugs land park was the “its tough to be a bug” show and i remember at the end of the show being absolutely jump-scared by bugs crawling under the seats. i also remember being sprayed with bug spray and spiders on webs falling from the ceiling. it was a fun experience.

I went to see the "its tough to be a bug" show when I was about 7. I loved it and was on the edge of my seat. My dad was sat forward, to make sure I didn't fall off my seat, meaning only my mom was sat far back enough to feel the bugs run past, so she randomly screamed and we had no clue why.

Was on the original pirates ride many times. It wasn’t that much different than the ride that existed after the pirates movies. Basically for years all they did was add one Jack Sparrow animatronic. Haven’t been on the one in California in a minute but the one in Florida is NOW pretty recently much different as there is a sea battle between two ships in the beginning and they’ve added Barbosa as you mentioned. Also the ride was originally based on the book Treasure Island by Robert Stevenson. Same with the inspiration for the movie’s general themes and how they depict pirates.

48:10 Fact Check: International street wasn't a renaming of main street it was supposed to be a European village full of different countries like a mini Epcot world showcase. It would've gone to the right of the front of main street. It was then canceled and changed into Liberty Street which would've held a prototype hall of presidents and would lay the ground work for Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom

I was born in the era of the Disneyland ticket book. We went to Disneyland all the time as a kid. The ticket books just made it that much more special. I was glad to see them go but to tell you the truth I miss my eTicket rides and most of the rides they’ve taken out. I think vintage Disney was a better Disney. And it was certainly less expensive than today’s Disney. I rode the sky gondolas many times. I always wanted to ride in the yellow gondola. I loved the ride but my mother was terrified of the height.

My family went to Disneyland when I was about 4 or 5 years old (1979/80) and upon seeing the que for ADVENTURE THRU INNER SPACE, I literally lost it because I thought that we were really going to be shrunk down to microscopic size. Finally after like 5 to 10 minutes of me crying and screaming that I didn't wanna go on the ride, my grandmother waited outside with me while the rest of the family went on the ride. I'm quite embarrassed that I really thought we were gonna be shrunk down and caused such a scene cause I missed out on experiencing that amazing ride.

1:11:48 I would imagine that the elevator was designed in that cage style to simulate taking the elevator to the launch pad of a rocket, much like an astronaut. If you look at it that way, it was actually very well themed for the time. Sadly, as with much of the theming of Tomorrowland, as technology catches up, it becomes slightly outdated.

You deserve more love than you get. You put way too much dedication into this and it's absolutely awesome!! I just watched your newest iceberg on all of those disturbing videos and the entire time I thought, "wow this is some crazy shit he has been researching." I love you and all of your icebergs I always listen to them during homework and mostly when I'm about to fall asleep and a whole 3 hour video about the awesome Disney lore, especially since Disney is my entire childhood and one of my favorite things ever, just makes me SO happy. I hope in the future you get much more recognition and support because you have so much good potential. I think this is by far one of my most favorite icebergs EVER. You're amazing, dude!! :) P.S. I appreciate that you never have any jump scares, or shifts in the audio. It makes it so much more enjoyable. 💗

On our first time riding Guardians of the Galaxy, we didn’t know what kind of ride it was, or that it was the former Tower of Terror, just that it was highly rated. We went in completely unsuspecting with our then 5 and 9 year old kids, and that surprise made it one of the best ride experiences we have ever had. It remains a family favorite.

Whoa! Just watched this entire video nonstop. Grew up in a large family on Cali’s central coast. Was always told Disneyland was too expensive. First park visit was High School Grad Night in ‘81. I was 17 and our class rode down on an Amtrack train. Kool & the Gang was headlining! The park was open all night and Space Mountain was the coolest newest attraction. I live about an hour south now and probably go once or twice a year. I’m just a big Disney adult nerd and found your research and story telling fascinating. Thank you so much! Best part of “ Adventure through Inner Space “ was the voice over narration. I remember my father , who spent his lifetime in Broadcasting , telling me that the voice was Paul Frees. He was also Santa in the 1969 cartoon Frosty the Snowman and Burgermeister Meisterburger in the stop action Santa Claus is coming to Town of 1970. I know I’m not your democratic but I loved this video.

I never went to any of the Disney parks but I did grow up going to Kennywood and Idlewild, I have a lot of great memories from them. My Pap always said that if he won the lottery he was taking to whole family to Disney in Florida, once he married my step grandmother he stopped playing the lottery😒 If i ever get rich I'm taking my mom, nieces, sister, brother in-law, and if I have my own spouse and children to Disney.

I remember in Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL riding many versions of these rides. The astro orbitors in Tomorrowland did remain on top of the people movers and it was weird when you first saw it and didn't know how to get to the actual ride. I was like 15 and my little sister was 4 and she really wanted to ride it. We found the elevator and got on. It is SO much higher than you realize and I was pretty freaked out by the height while my little sister was having the time of her life. So much fun. The people movers are still in Tomorrowland in Magic Kingdom too as well as the Carousel of Progress. The submarine ride you showed looked so fun. I never got to ride the submarines however, my mom and dad said Epcot originally had a submarine ride called "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" and they really loved it. I wish I could have seen it. Your video is great! And gave me never-ending nostalgia.

My Dad worked for Garrett Airesearch from the 1960s until he retired. Each year there was Garrett Night (only employees and their family. Yes, I started going in my stroller. This one night, only Garrett were allowed and there we no lines. I can remember the height restriction on the Eutopia cars. My older brothers went on it but I was too short until age 10. Am so happy to see Swiss Family Robinson is coming back. Perhaps they release the original movie or make one up to date. You've done an excellent job on research and narrative for all who looks at the video. One point is the Haunted Mansion. Much rumor of a few Cast Masters, the ride was so frightening, it had to be dramatically changed before opening up to the public.

If I remember correctly, for a little while there was a grand prize for The Who Wants To Be A Millionaire show at DCA. If you were in the hot seat and answered all the questions correctly, you won tickets for a Disney Cruise. Not sure how long they did that for, or if they did it at all, but I’m like 90% sure that was a thing. My uncle almost won but got the last question wrong!

I'm surprised you didn't mention the best parts, other than the floor game and iron man suit, etc.. there were also a ton of XBOX 360s, an ASIMO show (the walking talking robot), the area you could video chat with Stitch and of course the part where you could learn to ride a Segway. I used to freak ppl out being 8 months pregnant with my (now almost 15yo daughter 😱) and when I got back from maternity leave, I had to re-evaluate my weight getting back on the Segway 🤣

I thought everyone knew the Pirates movie was based on the ride, just like with Haunted Mansion... But I'm pretty sure Carousel of Progress is still around. I know I'm a bit older at 32 compared to the median YT age, but "Great, Big, Beautiful Tomorrow" is something I can never forget! And it's truly amazing how the future looked to people 60 years ago. The Videopolis thing though... I can see 14-18, cause that's high school ages, but would anyone really want to leave their 14 year old in a place with 21 year olds??? I only went to Orlando, but Quest was fantastic! The first time I ever tried VR, and this was 2003 I believe. My parents had to sit through a time share scheme, but it was totally worth it when you got to play VR Pirates of the Caribbean, where you're in a room with 360 screen, and a boat that you shoot cannons on. They even spray water whenever a wave crashes. It was beyond awesome! Besides, I had to walk through Epcot, which wasn't fun when you're 12

Even though I live nowhere near Disneyland, I have had the pleasure to go on many of these extinct rides (and the misfortune to have gone on Superstar Limo. ) It was even weirder given that we went to DCA about 6 months after it opened, and it was nearly empty. We kept saying to each other "Aren't we in a Disney park?" and that ride was the icing on the cake. As for the coaster, I too preferred it as California Screaming but in it's original format, when there was no countdown so you had no idea when you were going to be vaulted to the top of the hill. Thanks for the interesting video.
