When I read Beholder and my first thought was "giant eyeball monster" instead of "person who sees or views someone or something" I knew I'd been playing too much DnD. 😅 Jokes aside, this was *wonderful.* 👌 Thanks for the audio, Reverie.

This is the single healthiest breakup reaction on the face of the internet. A great example of "respond, not react." Speaker _could_ have lashed out in the pain she was clearly feeling, that we caused. Instead, she took time to ask questions, and answered thoughtfully and methodically. First, she reassured us of her love and support, that it's not going anywhere. Second, she made it clear that what we do with our insecurity is our choice. Third, she communicated her needs--that if this relationship is going to work, she needs _our_ loving faithfulness in response. Then she gave us time to choose. Immaculate. Thank you for bringing this beautiful story to life in all it's color. 💙 Subbed!

I would wager she'd want to know *_whom_* exactly amongst the nobility or their retainers was so base and craven as to try to get under her skin through making her most beloved feel like they're _less_ than the others at court. "Nothing" even. I might be over-theorizing but Intrigue is a regular business at royal courts and she _was_ just granted a great honour she's looking forward to. From high nobility no less. _Which most likely means someone else at court goes without said honour_ and would therefore be easily motivated to move against the good Captain and her beloved. Especially if the captain's beloved is of "lower" nobility or good heavens from a merchant family or a commoner, unaccustomed to the machiavellian machinations of a royal court. 🤔
